I offer the hard-to-find combination of highly refined native US English (as confirmed by years of work as an editor and translator-trainer) plus the kind of essential, on-the-ground knowledge that can only be gained by living and teaching translation in Eastern Europe (chiefly Warsaw, also Moscow & Budapest).
The highlights of my current work include:
-- Subcontracting daily business/political/economic coverage translated from the Polish (+ Russian and Hungarian) press for a press office of the US Department of State
-- Translator and English language editor of Academia, the popular-science magazine of the Polish Academy of Sciences
-- Lecturer in Polish-English translation at Warsaw University
-- Recently published book translations:
Ten Centuries of Polish Literature, by the scholars of the Institute of Literary Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (2005)
Polish Academy of Sciences: Past and Present (2006)
