Når man flyr er de mest avgjørende sekundene når man tar av og når man lander.
Da må ingenting gå galt!!!
Det samme gjelder når man skal holde presentasjoner. Hvordan vi starter et møte avgjør hvor vellykket det blir, eller kan ødelegge alt helt fra start. Og dette er minst like gjeldende for korte møter, ref oppfølgingsmøter, der tiden til å hente seg inn etter et aldri så lite ”mageplask” de første sekundene, er lik minimal eller null.
Moralen er altså at hva man åpner et møte med er verdt å forberede godt i forkant!
Vi vet også at vi har 10 sek på å skape et godt (eller dårlig)1.inntrykk, noe som er spesielt viktig på tenke på når vi har oppfølgingsmøter; hva signaliserer du med kroppsspråk og det du sier?
En åpning av en plenumspresentasjon eller et mindre møte med en eller noen få leger kan ha som hensikt å vekke interesse, nysgjerrighet eller bare ren åpenhet og velvilje for å motta informasjon. Men en åpning kan også ha som hensikt å være en ”brannfakkel”, sette i gang noen tanker, engasjere og kanskje til og med provosere! | Translation - English
When you’re riding an airplane, take off and landing are the most critical moments. You don’t want anything to go wrong!!!
The same applies when you’re giving a presentation. The way you start a meeting determines how successful it is... or can ruin it all from the beginning. This applies equally to short meetings, such as follow-up meetings, where any ”butterflies in the stomach” in the first few seconds must be kept to a minimum.
The moral of the story: if you’re opening a meeting, be well-prepared ahead of time!
Keep in mind you have 10 seconds to create a good (or bad) first impression, it’s especially important to remember this at a follow-up meeting; what are you communicating with your body language as well as your words?
An opening of a plenary session or a smaller meeting with one or a few doctors might focus on grabbing the audience’s interest or curiosity or just getting them excited to learn new information. Or, it might act as a kind of ”kindling”, setting ideas in motion, engaging or even provoking!

I maintain subscriptions to paid online dictionaries that include many technical terms: ordnett.no for Norwegian, tyda.se for Swedish, ordbogen.com for Danish.
At the moment, I am using the free online German dictionary, dict.cc.

Good translation requires more than just knowledge of more than one language. It requires skilled intuition, a special knack for capturing and expressing the essence of language. I possess this special knack, in addition to rigorous research skills and a passion for accuracy. I produce a finished product that is excellent, not just adequate.
Subject Areas:
Financial is my strongest practical subject area. I recently completed Principles of Accounting I and II at Portland Community College. I am especially eager to translate more financial statements now that I have completed my second term of Accounting. I also have close family contacts that work in the insurance industry, so I have a ready source of information.
In addition, I can successfully navigate IT documents, thanks to a few Computer Science courses at the University of Oregon. I've also had some success with Telecommunications translations, and would be interested in doing more of that.
And now: German!
In an effort to constantly grow and improve myself, I am in the process of acquiring a new language pair: German to English. I recently completed second year German at Portland Community College, with an 'A' all three terms. I also spent the summer as a teacher's assistant for both German and for English as a Second Language. I am eager to begin practice on my first German to English projects. At the moment, I will only be taking on small German to English projects, amounting to 500 words or less per day, so that I can concentrate on quality first, and build speed over time. |
