Except for three and a half years, I did all my schooling in English, of which three years at an American elementary school in Caracas, Venezuela, followed by five years at an English high school in Trinidad in the West Indies, with a further final year at an American high school in Caracas. I then went to college in Washington D.C., in the U.S., for four years as an undergraduate. Of the three years´schooling in German, I did two at an elementary school in Herrsching am Ammersee near Munich in Germany and one and a half years of graduate college studies at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, Austria. The Academy is directly adjunct to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

I have worked in Venezuela for thirty years, the first twenty six of which with a commercial bank (whosesale customer and correspondent banking units) and the last three within an informal group of freelance translators, all graduates from a legal translation course at Berlitz in Caracas.
