I am a native speaker of Chinese and I am familiar with Computer/IT/Telecommunications in general, and have specialized knowledge of Databases, Software Engineering, E-Commerce, Computer Networks etc. etc.
I have a PhD in Management Information Systems from Purdue University with Major in MIS and Minor in EE. I have a BS in CS/EE from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. I also did two years of graduate study at College of Management of Tsinghua University.
I have spent my last 20 years reside in the US finished my PhD, worked as research associate(doing C Programming) Taught Microsoft Official Correculum (MCSD Courses) for 2 years and worked as a college professor for over 10 years (I am currently still teaching at college). I go back to China quite frequently, at least once a year since 1992, twice a year in recent years to keep up with what is going on in China.
Previous experience includes interpreting, and translation, give seminars in English both in China and US.
As well as offering translation, I have experience in abstracting material for database records. I can also apply my problem solving and critical thinking skills in everything I do. I am always very good at languages. I like to travel around the world. Every time I went to a place, I can pick up a lot about that language. I use my math skill in learning any of the languages (pattern recognition). My philosophy in translation is: accurate, faithful to the original meaning, and elegant with words.
In addition to the translation rates cited below, I charge $30-40 per hour for editing and proof-reading. However, I am always ready to negotiate rates, especially for large projects or regular commissiona.
