I have a small team of two Lao native translators, one Hmong translator and one Vietnamese native translator who have extensive experience of more than 7 years in the translation industry.
We provide language service from English to Lao, Hmong and Vietnamese, and vice versa since 2002. Our main clients are the government agencies and International organizations and NGOs operating in Laos such as: UNPD, JICA, World Bank, UNCDF, World Vision Laos, SFE and Care International, and well-known private companies like: NamTheun 2 hydropower Co.Ltd, ANZ Vientiane Commercial Ltd, OXIANA - LXML Ltd, etc…
We also provide language service in the above pairs to over 90 translation agencies throughout the world, mainly in USA, Canada, Egypt, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Iran, Vietnam and Thailand. The list of clients and those agencies is available upon request.
For me, as the team leader, I have a Bachelor degree in English from Lao-American College in Vientiane, Laos, and obtain a degree in International Economics from The Institute for International Relations in Hanoi, Vietnam.
I started working as translator since 2002, both as freelancer and full time translator with some well-know organizations and private companies such as:
From June 2002 – October 2004, I worked as Translator/interpreter with Sepon Gold-Copper Mines, Lanxang Mineral Ltd, a member of Oxiana Group; Australia, in Vilabouly district, Savanakhet province. This is a commercial project exploring and producing gold and copper.
From October 2004 – December 2006, I worked as Translator/Interpreter with Sekong Ethnic People’s Development project (SEPDev). This is an integrated rural community development project co-funded by UNDP, NORAD and WFP, in Sekong Province, Lao PDR.
From January 2007 – April 2008, I worked as Translator/Interpreter with Rural Livelihoods Improvement Programme (RLIP), a rural community development project co-funded by IFAD, WFP and UNDFPA in Attapeu Province, Lao PDR. This is an integrated development aid project, helping the poor villagers get out of poverty in rural area of Laos.
During the same period, I also work on a wide variety of document translation projects on freelance basis for private firms, international organizations and translation agencies both in country and abroad. I am now a full time freelancer and leader of the small team of freelance translators.
