Some interesting contradictions The birth of the telecommunication reward point scheme was created with high valued customer users in mind, whose aim is to increase brand loyalty. Later on, service providers increasingly concerned themselves with clients of potential value, providing them with bonus rewards plans to stimulate their spending. However, it appears that high value clients are not tied down by high accruals of bonus points, but are concerned with high network and voice quality, and popularly known telephone numbers. Certainly, they are also concerned with the bang for their buck. When confronting tempting offers from competitors', the best way to keep clients is to not do so by reminding them how many points they have left to redeem, but to offer them ever more competitive financing and fees. In addition, because they are high end clients, they already receive privileged treatment from VIP services of businesses in other industries. Hence, if one were say they are tied to a brand, why not instead say they remain with us because of their phone numbers, and cutthroat deals provided to them during intense competition.
