I have a university degree as a Swedish language consultant and 20 years of work experience in writing, translation and editing. For the most part, I have been active in the IT business, but I have also worked with texts dealing with pulp and paper machinery, biomedicine, foods, polymers, etc.

My speciality is patent applications. I have translated some 250 such texts, ranging from telecom and mechanics to microbiology and image compression.

From 1986 to 2000, I was employed as a technical writer, editor and translator (primarily with Swedish computer consultancy WM-data and with Ericsson). I worked with manuals, software texts, sales promotion material, product descriptions, etc. I also designed document templates and set the linguistic standards for my colleagues. The technical fields of my Ericsson departments were Intelligent Network (IN) applications and GPRS.

In my current business (which I started in 2000), I have written regular intranet articles on project management for Ericsson. I have also produced material for various industrial trade magazines, and I write or edit customer newsletters. I also write and translate many other types of texts, for example, press releases, product descriptions, job ads, patent applications, and financial reports. I can take on many roles, from the creative copywriter to the merciless proofreader.

Swedish and English are the languages I handle every day. To those languages, I can translate from German, French, Spanish and Russian. Recently, I have also translated documents relating to papermaking from English/Swedish to French.

I work with Trados and MultiTerm, and I am used to working in various technological and social environments. I mostly work from my home base in Karlstad, Sweden, but I am prepared to travel within Sweden and abroad.
