Maria Corti
Translation - English 'There follows in the culture of that time a conflicting structure: on the one hand the force of stability and of literary convention, in other words the force of inertia of the system, produces a harmful proliferation of consumer novels in the literature of the nineteen sixties, so much so that a boom in the publishing sector was talked about at length.
'The authors of these novels, with their commercialised covers, being inclined to pander to the expectations of the public, churned out products that were easily decipherable, and in which the average reader, to join in Estival’s opinion, would begin to write ‘inside’ the author.
'This succession of books submitted itself to the norms of the socio-literary system, which has the intrinsic tendency to keep things just as they are.'

My name is Emilia Robinson and I am available for translations into English from either French or Italian.
I achieved a First Class joint degree (the equivalent of 'summa cum laude') in the languages & literatures of the French & Italian at Christ Church College, University of Oxford.
I have 4 years experience of translating into and out of both languages for all sorts of literary and non-literary academic text, including journalism, reviews, criticism, and historical writings. Translating has always been my strong point since I have a keen grammatical knowledge and an ability to use words efficiently.
