My name is Souheir Carty and I am a freelance translator. I was born and raised in Lebanon and have acquired my Bachelor’s degree in Business/Computer from Beirut University College. I have continued my education and earned a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration from Columbia University in New York.

As you will see in my resume - attached - I have conducted a variety of jobs during our family's many postings throughout the world. One of my favorite jobs has been translation. I have performed translation duties during my work at the US Embassy in Beirut as well the US Embassy in Jordan. I have finally come to the realization that translation is my passion and the career I want to pursue for the long-term.

I have been working with Save the Children UK as a freelance translator/proofreader since 2007. I work on their reports, communications, transcriptions and other assignments as needed. I have also worked with OXFAM UK as well as General Dynamics Information Technology. My expertise covers English into Arabic and Arabic into English translations and revisions. I have done limited work on transcription/interpretation over the years.

Kindly note that I have a current TS clearance granted by the Diplomatic Security Service May 2011.
