Das Auswählen ist eine sehr kreative und ganz entscheidende Tätigkeit beim Malen. Hinter dem Auswählen steht eine unerklärliche Kraft, die die Entscheidung letztlich herbeiführt. Das führt zu Zweifeln, zum Schwanken, zum Enttäuscht- und Irritiertsein. Oft stellt man beim Arbeiten fest, dass man noch nicht genügend gereift ist. Dann muss man sich in Geduld üben, man muss abwarten. Auf einmal stellt sich die Lösung ein. Kontrolle und Korrektur allerdings beschränken sich hauptsächlich auf die Entfernung von störenden Elementen.
Ich wähle Farben spontan oder intuitiv, manchmal eine, manchmal zwei, manchmal drei. Die verdünne ich mit einer Flüssigkeit, vermische sie oder auch nicht. Das ist ein meditativer Vorgang. | Translation - English
In art, selection is a highly creative and very decisive act. Yet the final cause of decision making, standing behind all selective acts, is a force which remains inexplicable. This leads to doubt, wavering, disappointment and irritation. In the process of working, one often realizes that one does not possess sufficient maturity. When that happens, one has to practice patience and wait. All of a sudden, the solution will arrive. Control and correction are used mainly to remove discordant elements.
I choose colours spontaneously, or intuitively, sometimes one, sometimes two, sometimes three. I thin them by adding liquid, mix them maybe, or maybe not. It is a meditative process. |
