1. Limited depth or spread of coagulation.
When using the forceps, current flow is concentrated between closely spaced electrode tips and there is little depth or spread of coagulation. Of course, should the electrodes touch each other without tissues in between them, they will short circuit and coagulation will not occur (blade spacers are available to set tip distance).
2. Coagulation can be done with saline.
Bipolar diathermy is best accomplished using saline irrigation which minimizes tissue heating, shrinkage, drying, and the sticking of coagulum to the electrodes. There is a tendency for the forceps tips to become coated when used in a dry field or under a layer of blood; coagulation under saline irrigation minimizes these concerns. | Translation - German Bipolare Diathermie hat vier entscheidende Vorteile gegenüber anderen Methoden:
| Translation - English Does tableware always have to follow conventions? This question was explored by ABC, a Swiss ceramist. In search of an answer she deprived everyday tableware of its function: The milk jug seems to grow a wing, the cup has fluffed up and the lid of the teapot won't close anymore. Rims of small bowls begin to flutter. ... Observing, analysing, comprehending: XYZ appreciates the methods of hard science. "The desire to explore is part of my personality" says the Hungarian designer. She took [name of porcelain factory] designs apart and in the process revealed fine details. She assembled vessel bodies and handles into asymmetrical objects. | More Less | | Cell Biology, food and wine, insurance, marketing, Medicine DE > EN, Technical | | New York University Certificate in Translation, German to English (current) | | Years of translation experience: 4. While I specialize in scientific translations (General Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, General Medicine) I have also translated manuals for project management software and medical devices and I am a long time translator for a German-based NGO that represents the interests of the African Diaspora in Germany.
Recently, I went back to school for a certificate in translation (German > English) at NYU. I also write creative non-fiction and have been working on a children’s book, both in English.
I am a German native living in Boston, Massachusetts since 1995.
