كيف نعين الأبناء علي المذاكرة
لو نظرنا إلى المذاكرة على أنها واجبات يؤديها الطفل كشرط للمرور من سنة دراسية إلى السنة التي تليها فستكون نظرتنا محدودة جدا وبلا قيمة.
لكن في الحقيقة الواجبات المدرسية والمذاكرة بصفة عامة تمثل المسؤولية الأولى التي يتحملها الطفل. ومن هنا يصبح دور الأسرة في تعليمه كيف يتعامل مع هذه المسؤولية دورا أساسيا وفعالا، ولا يمكن بأي حال من الأحوال الاستغناء عنه.
عندما أعلم طفلي كيف يذاكر فإني بذلك أعلمه دروسا كثيرة، منها ما يلي:
1- أعلمه كيف يكون أمينا في أداء المسؤولية الملقاة على عاتقه.
2- أعلمه كيف يحترم تعليمات مدرسيه وينفذها.
3- أعلمه كيف يلتزم يوميا بالقيام بمسؤولياته كاملة فلا يؤجل منها شيئا.
4- أعلمه كيف ينظم وقته ويوجِد توازنا بين المذاكرة والأنشطة الأخرى.
5- أعلمه كيف يكتشف ميوله واتجاهاته الفكرية ليصوغ أحلامه المستقبلية وليحسن اختيار المجال الذي سيقبل على دراسته ومن ثم سيعمل فيه في المستقبل.
6- أعلمه كيف يتحدى العقبات والصعوبات في بعض المواد الدراسية دون اللجوء إلى إهمالها أو الفشل فيها أو التسليم السريع بعدم القدرة على تعلمها.
7- أعلمه أن يكون طموحا عاليَ الهمة، فلا يرضى بأن يؤدي دورا عاديا في هذه الحياة؛ بل يتعود أن يكون له دور متميز، وأن يجب المنافسة الشريفة، ويسعى إلى الوصول إلى القمة.
8- أعلمه الاعتماد على نفسه ليكتسب ثقة في قدراته ويصقلها.
وحتى نحصل على أفضل النتائج إليك عزيزتي النصائح التالية:
وقت المذاكرة:
1- يجب أن تفصل بين العودة من المدرسة وبدء المذاكرة فترة زمنية يأخذ فيها الطفل حماما دافئا لتجديد دورته الدموية، ثم يتناول وجبة غذائية متكاملة بها كل العناصر التي يحتاجها الجسم والمخ للتركيز.
2- يحتاج الطفل إلى راحة بين فترات المذاكرة تختلف بحسب سنه وقدراته وكم المذاكرة المطلوبة.
3- لابد أن نعلم الطفل كيف يضع جدولا لمذاكرته حتى وإن كان صغير السن.
على سبيل المثال...
عليه أن يعرف ما عليه عمله اليوم، ثم يقسمه على الوقت، ويحدد وقت بداية المذاكرة ونهايتها. ولا ننصح بالبدء بالواجبات السهلة لأن التركيز يكون أفضل في أول وقت المذاكرة.
وفي حالة عدم إتمام الطفل لجدول مذاكرته يجب أن نجلس معه ونعلمه. فننظر: هل المشكلة في أنه لم يُحْسِنْ إعداد الجدول؟ أم أنه تهاونَ في الوقت؟
ويجب علينا أن نعلم أطفالنا التركيز أثناء المذاكرة. كيف؟ كما يلي:
1- أجعله يقوم بعمل واجباته في غرفته وليس في غرفه المعيشة حيث يجتمع جميع أفراد الأسرة ليتكلموا أو ليشاهدوا التلفاز.
2- إذا احتاج الطفل مساعدة مني أذهب أنا إليه في غرفته ولا أجعله يأتي إليّ.
3- لا يخرج الطفل من غرفته لينال قسطا من الراحة إلا إذا أتم العمل الذي كُلف به.
4- أستمع إليه إن أراد الحديث معي، وأساعده إن احتاج الأمر، وفي ذلك عليَّ ألا أكون مشغولة في أداء أي عمل آخر.
5- يجب ألا ينشغل الطفل بأي شيء آخر أثناء أدائه لواجباته المدرسية حتى يكون استيعابه أفضل ويسهل عليه الاحتفاظ بالمعلومة في ذاكرته لمدة أطول.
التشجيع والتأديب:
- عليّ أن أؤكد للطفل أنه يستطيع الاعتماد على نفسه في عمل واجباته، ولا أفتح باب مساعدته إلا إذا طلب مني ذلك، على شرط أن يكون قد حاول وبذل ما في وسعه ولم يفلح. وذلك يعلمه أن يبني ثقته بنفسه. ولابد لنا من الاطلاع على تلك المحاولات الفاشلة لنقف على سبب فشله.
- تقديم المكافأة للطفل إن أحسن في أمر ما وإسماعه كلمات التشجيع مثل : "برافو عليك!" "ما شاء الله!" "أنت رائع!" "أنا مبسوطة منك قوى!" "هحكى لكل الناس قد إيه أنت شاطر!" وعلينا أن نبتعد عن كلمات الإحباط واليأس مثل: "ما أنا كنت عارفة إن ده هيحصل!" "إنت تمللي كده!" "أنت مش ناجح!" " مش هيبقالك مستقبل!" "أؤكد لك أنك هتفشل!" وكذلك علينا أن نتجنب مقارنته بأحد إخوته أو أقاربه ... الخ فإن ذلك من شأنه أن يرسب لدى الطفل الإحساس بأنه بالفعل فاشل ولا يفلح في عمل شيء، وسيسلم عقله الباطن لما تردد على مسامعه من عبارات الفشل والتبكيت، ويتصور أن كل الناس ينظرون إليه مثل نظرتنا نحن له.

How can we help our children to study?
If we see studying as the duties and homework performed by the child just as a prerequisite to pass from one school year to the next, then our view will be extremely valueless short-sighted one.
In fact, homework, and studying in general, represents the first responsibility the child would bear on his/her own shoulders. Hence, the role the family plays in teaching the child how to handle this responsibility would become a key, effective and indispensable role.
When I teach my child how to study, I, therefore, teach him/her many things; including the following:
1. I teach him/her how to faithfully bear the responsibility that has been put on his/her shoulders.
2. I teach him/her how to respect and carry out his/her teachers' instructions.
3. I teach him/her how to be daily committed to his/her full responsibilities and not to postpone any of them.
4. I teach him/her how to manage his/her time and how to balance between studying and other activities.
5. I teach him/her how to discover his/her intellectual tendencies and trends in order to shape his/her future dreams and ambitions and to make good decisions regarding the study field he/she is willing to plunge into and, in the future, work in.
6. I teach him/her how to challenge the obstacles and difficulties that he/she would face in studying some study courses without resorting to neglecting, failing them or quickly admit his/her inability to learn them.
7. I teach him/her how to be ambitious highly motivated person and not to be satisfied with playing an ordinary role in life. Hence, I let him/her get used to the idea that he/she should play a distinctive role, love to take part in fair competition and seek to reach the peak in every thing in life.
8. I teach him/her how to depend on him/herself to gain confidence in his/her abilities and to enhance them as well.
And to get the best results, here you are the following tips:
Studying time:
1. There should be an enough period of time to separate between coming back from school and the beginning of studying time in which the child can take a warm bath for refreshment, then eat an integrated healthy meal containing all the elements his/her body and brain need in order to be able to concentrate.
2. The child needs breaks intervening the period in which he/she study. These breaks vary according to his/her age, abilities and the amount of information needs to be studied.
3. We should teach the child how to make a timetable to schedule his/her study even if he/she is very young.
For instance,
The child should know what He/she has to do for today, divides his/her tasks depending on the given time, then determines the time in which the study should begin and end. We do not recommend starting with easy homework tasks, because concentration will be at its best in the beginning of studying time.
In case the child did not complete his/her studying schedule, we should set down with him/her to teach them. Then, we look at the situation in hand; does the problem lies in the inappropriate way he/she followed to set the timetable? Or the child did not faithfully value and commit to the time?
We should teach our children how to concentrate during studying. Well, the question is: How can we do this?
1. I should make the child do his/her homework in his/her own room, not in the living room where all the family members gather to talk or to watch television.
2. If the child needs some help from me, I should, myself, go to him/her in his/her own room, and not vice versa.
3. The child should not come out of his/her room to get some rest, unless he/she completed the tasks appointed to him/her.
4. I should listen to the child if he/she wanted to talk to me and help him/her if needed. Meanwhile, I should not be busy doing anything else.
5. The child should not be engaged in doing any other things during doing his/her homework in order to concentrate, better achieve and easily retain the information in his/her memory for a longer period of time.
Encouragement vs. punishment:
• I have to assure the child that he/she can depend on him/herself in doing the homework. I should not offer him/her help until he/she asks for, provided that he/she has tried to do his/her best but it did not work. This teaches the child how to build-up his/her self-confidence. We must know the child's unsuccessful trials to put our hands on the root causes that led to that failure.
• We should reward the child if he/she did something good and let him/her hear statements of encouragement; such as "Well done!", "You did great!", "You are a wonderful kid!", "I'm very proud of you!", "I'll tell everybody how clever you are!" …etc. On the other hand, we should avoid using frustrating statements, such as "I knew it will happen!", "It's typical of you!", "You're not successful!", "Your will have no future!", "I'm sure you will fail!" …etc. Moreover, we should avoid comparing the child with his/her other sisters, brothers or relatives …etc, as this would deposits in the child's mind that he/she is already a loser and unsuccessful in doing anything, leading his/her mind to get totally busy thinking of the failure and reproach statements that he/she have heard. This also makes the child think that everybody views him/her the same way as we do.
