About me
While teaching Business English in Vienna people began approaching me about translations and about a year ago, due to the huge amount of work, I became a full-time freelance translator.

I only work for direct clients and have never advertised - word of mouth seems to work best.

I do the majority of the translations for Austrian Trade (Foreign Trade Promotion Organisation for the Austrian Chamber of Commerce) including the whole of the new website www.advantageaustria.org (except some sections provided by content partners directly). The nature of the work for this client (esp. with regard to trade fairs, brochures, news items) means that I have translated texts from many different industry sectors.

My main client is PORR AG, for whom I have done all financial reports since mid 2007 and many technical translations, human resource texts, image brochures etc.

Despite the massive work load from these two organisations, I have also translated EU reports, websites, technical manuals and websites for other companies. At the beginning of 2007, I translated a F1 book - Race Travel Guide 2007 by Harry Miltner - in just a week.

While not a real specialist in any of the fields I translate (my background is linguistics and teaching, rather than financial or engineering), my clients appreciate my fast turnover, fastidious research and, above all, my approach of conveying the meaning of the text as clearly as possible. At the end of the day, the text should make sense (sounds obvious, but....)
