In my translations, accuracy is central. However, I feel that a translation should be as fluid and natural as the source text while reflecting a deep understanding of the language and culture in which it originated. For me, detail and subtlety are key elements of every translation.

Sometimes a translation is not the answer, though, and it is better to abandon the constraints of a source text and write in English from the start. Based on your briefing, I can produce an original text in English that will do what you need it to do.

I have studied extensively in the Netherlands, earning two teaching degrees (up to the equivalent of a Master in Education) and the equivalent of a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature at Leiden University.

I am a sworn translator and a full member of the Society of English Native Speaking Editors.
