|English to Portuguese: RAR files|
|Source text - English|
Currently, RAR is one of the most popular formats used to compress any data: documents, audio, video, etc. Archives are usually used in two cases: to store information that is not needed so far and to transfer information via open communications channels. In both cases there is a risk of corrupting the compressed file. After that it will be impossible to open it and, therefore, extract information from it. There may be various reasons why an archive becomes corrupted. If the compressed file is stored on the hard drive, the problem may be caused by failures in the operating system or software, hardware failures, power failures, etc. However, an archive is most likely to be corrupted when you carry it on removable media (CDs and DVDs, floppy disks, ZIP drives, etc.), download it from the Internet or transfer it via e-mail. In these cases, the risk of getting an incorrect compressed file is relatively large.

I have worked in many different areas. From 1999 to 2011 I worked as an English teacher, a bilingual attendant, an administrative assistant, a management assistant and, of course, as a Translator/Interpreter.
Nowadays, I am a full-time freelance translator.
I have translated, edited, localized, transcribed and proofread several types of documents, such as: manuals, abstracts, articles, literary texts, technical documents, certificates, researches, contracts, reports, menus, folders, curriculums, SEO, Adwords, websites, e-mails, presentations, movies, games and books (novels).
These jobs were done for different companies/clients, among them:
Voice Brazil Versão Brasileira
Holcim Brasil S.A.
BHP Billiton Brasil
Kraft Foods (Milka)
In 2004, I worked as a voluntary interpreter for Rotary Club in Mariana (M.G.), with ophthalmologists that came to Brazil to help poor communities.
I have also worked as an interpreter in meetings.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Translation
and a Teaching Degree
While I was at the University, I took part in some research projects related to English and Brazilian Portuguese phonetics.
I have helped to localize the ProZ.com website into Portuguese (BR) and I am also a ProZ.com Moderator.
I presented the paper/poster "The Translator/Reviser Relationship: What are its effects on the final translation?" on the 10th Brazilian Translation Forum and 4th International Translation Forum
, that happened from September 7th to 10th (2009), in Ouro Preto (MG - Brazil).
I took two courses on “Literary Translation” at PUC-RJ – Gavea Campus, with the professor and translator Regina Lyra. The first one happened in 2009 and the second one in 2010.
I am extremely organized, detail-oriented, communicative and dedicated.
I don't mind working on weekends and holidays.
I accept Paypal
For further information, please contact me via e-mail or ProZ.com IM.
I am looking forward to working with/for you. :))
