I specialize in cultural studies and social sciences, having obtained my doctorate from Lancaster University (U.K.) in cultural studies of science (a cultural-linguistic study of popular representations of the Human Genome Project).
Major translation projects in the past include Niklas Luhmann's book The Reality of the Mass Media and Ulrich Beck's Power in the Global Age (both for Polity Press).
I am also happy to venture into social scientific studies in other fields (environment, development, new technologies etc.) on the basis of collaboration with the source text author.
My current clients include researchers from major independent research institutes and universities in Germany.
I also offer a reasonably priced, quality interpreting (spoken translation) service into and out of German, preferably in the NGO / not-for-profit sector.
15 years' full-time freelance experience and still going strong! Quality, reliability and approachability are my watchwords. |
