MSc in Translation and Technology - Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.
Currently Working With Interpreting & Translation Services (ITS) at Edinburgh Council.
I am a native speaker of Urdu/Punjabi and fluent in English/Arabic. Residence in UK for the last 9 years with a professional degree in Translation & Technology has not only made me fully aware of translation issues such as Ideology, Discourse and Politeness of both English and Urdu languages but also has given me an insight to sensitivities of both cultures. I have also gained deep knowledge of the other dialects spoken in UK due to my long stay both in England and Scotland.
Working with ITS at Edinburgh Council for the last 3 years has given me a vast experience of translation and interpreting. The Council’s main clients are National Health Service (NHS), Crown Courts, Housing and Planning Department, Citizen Advice Bureau (CAB) Social Work Department and Children in Need.
