I have learned my languages the thorough way... by living and working abroad.
After obtaining two linguistic degrees (MA in Sinology and BA in Multilingual Administration), I worked for 6 years in Taiwan as an International Sales Executive in local trading companies (export of consumer goods), using Chinese and English as main working languages. On my return to Belgium, I worked for 2 years as in-house interpreter Chinese-English-Dutch for a large international telecom company. After spending one year travelling in China and one year in Germany, I settled down in Spain and built a successful career in real estate (10 years), communicating with colleagues, customers and service providers in English, German, Spanish and Dutch.
My love for languages - and exasperation at badly written manuals - made me take up my linguistic responsibilities and in August 2007, I launched my career as a freelance translator.

My personal interests are:
International politics, trade, real estate, global economy, tourism, jazz, cats, Chinese culture.
