VANCOUVER FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS
Downtown Vancouver is a fluid concept, as it runs into both the West End and the Downtown Eastside. Roughly it is the area bounded by Burrard Street on the west, False Creek on the south, Vancouver Harbour on the north, and from the corner of Cordova and Granville to Science World, on False Creek on the east side.
It's not a large area, and can easily be crossed in less than an hour's walking. That's a good thing, considering the traffic nightmare that is downtown Vancouver.

Brù na Bòinne
Brù na Bòinne - the dwelling place of the Boyne - describes an area between the towns of Slane and Drogheda where the River Boyne meanders in dramatic loops and bends. Here lies one of the world's most important archeological landscapes, dominated by the spectacular prehistoric passage tombs of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth.
The International significance of Brù na Bòinne was formally recognised in 1993 when it was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Built over 5000 yeras ago by Neolithic (New Stone Age) farmers, these passage tombs are truly remarkable remnants of a highly evolved society which by the 4th millennium BC, had settled widely across much of Western Europe. Both rituals and settlemet were centred around these tombs, throughout the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, and Early Christian Times, through the Norman invasions and beyond.
Looking northwards from the Visitor Centre, the core archeological landscape of Brù na Bòinne comes into view. By studying the location, structure and history of its monuments, both the visible and unseen, the magnificence of this prehistoric landscape - and the extraordinary achivements of those who created it - can be appreciated. | Translation - Italian

Brù na Bòinne, in gaelico “residenza del fiume Boyne”, definisce una regione situata fra le città irladesi di Slane e di Drogheda dove il fiume Boyne serpeggia tra sensazionali anse e svolte. Qui si trova uno dei più importanti paesaggi archeologici su cui dominano le spettacolari tombe preistoriche “a passaggio” (dette anche tumuli) di Newgrange, Knowth e Dowth.
Il valore internazionale di Brù na Boinne fu ufficialmente riconosciuto nel 1993 quando, cioè l’UNESCO dichiarò questa regione Patrimonio culturale mondiale.
Costruiti più di 5000 anni fa dagli agricoltori dell’era neolitica (età della pietra), questi tumuli sono indubbiamente straordinarie vestigia di una società altamente evoluta i cui insediamenti, non più tardi del quarto millennio a.C., avevano interessato ampiamente gran parte dell’Europa occidentale. My name is Kika (Cristina) Kuenzle, born Di Casola.
Raised in Switzerland by an Italian father and a Swiss mother, I immediately was plunged in a multi-language environment as well as confronted with the importance and the power of being able to communicate in several languages.
Born in Lausanne (French speaking area of Switzerland) in 1962, I moved to Lugano (Italian speaking area) to attend school until my high school diploma and then moved back to Lausanne to get my diploma in Hotel Management and Hospitality Services.
My work within the Hospitality industry brought me around the world (Brazil, Africa and Spain) but everywhere I have worked, English was the universal language and sometimes mandatory to get hired by big corporations.
In 1999, my husband and I immigrated to Canada where we still live at the present time: after working in different fields, not directly related to languages or tourism, I’ve decided to put my knowledge and experience to work and become a Translator.
In 2005 I completed a translation course through the WLS (Words Language Services) in Dublin, Ireland, and obtained my Certificate of Translation with Special Merit in the following subject areas:

I owned my own Italian Restaurant and Café for the last 2 years and finally decided I wanted to pursuit my dream of becoming a freelance translator.
Everyone start their career with NO experience at all: so here I am, no experience ( yet!) but willing to make it in this fascinating world of words.
I’m currently volunteering for EuroCv (www.eurocv.eu) and getting familiar with Trados with the precious help of my Italian tutor Maria Antonietta Ricagno (www.antotranslation.com) whom I met through ProZ and who is helping me getting some experience and building my skills. Because of my professional and private life experiences, I would like to start by choosing Tourism as my first specialization field.
My other fields of interest will be Alternative Energy/Ecology and Alternative Medicine.
I am determinated to work hard and with as much precision as my knowledge will allow me to do, and will work for anyone who would take the time to test my ability to offer professional services to my clients.
