3.11.2.2 - Smut
Common smut (Ustilago maydis) is present in all European sweet corn growing regions. Its spores overwinter in soil and can stay alive for several years. Usually the plants are infected by spores through wounds (insects, wind, irrigation, mechanical, etc). Infection can appear on all parts of the plant. The smut reduces yield and loss can be very high, depending on the severity of the attack. Crop rotation can limit risk of smut infection but no real chemical protection against smut is available at the moment. The hybrids have different levels of resistance, so appropriate hybrid
selection can help to avoid higher smut damage. Head smut is not common in East – Europe.
3.11.2.3 - Helminthosporium
Helminthosporium ssp. can cause high damage on sweet corn but fortunately is not common in East –Europe. The infection can be easily recognised by the oval necrotic lesions on the leaves. Later the leaves and whole plant will be dry. Infection is more common in late autumn. Spraying is possible in early stage of infection. Genetic resistance is a

Пухирчаста сажка (Ustilago maydis) розповсюджена у всіх регіонах вирощування цукрової кукурудзи у Європи. ЇЇ спори зимують у ґрунті та можуть залишатися живими протягом декілька років. Зазвичай рослини інфікуються спорами, які проникають через пошкодження (внаслідок дії шкідних комах, вітру, іригації, механічних пошкоджень, та інш.). Інфекція може зявится у будь-якій частині рослини. Пухирчаста сажка знижує врожай. Втрати можуть бути дуже значними в залежності від суворості ураження. Сівооборот може обмежити ризик інфекції пухирчастої сажки, але на даний час не існує ефективного засобу хімічного захисту проти цієї хвороби. Гібриди мають різний ступінь опірності до цієї хвороби. Тому належний вибір гібриду сприятиме запобіганню великих втрат від пухирчастої сажки. Пухирчаста сажка не є розповсюдженою хворобою у Східній Європи.

Гельмінтоспоріоз може завдати значної шкоди посівам цукрової кукурудзи, але, на щастя, ця хвороба не поширена у Східній Європі. Die disassembly
The die consists of the upper die, the low die, the trimming plate, the soap bar suction set, the bar soap suction set, the die installation parts.
The upper and the low dies all have its own chilling circuit. The die discharge mechanism has the compressed air driving circuit and every tube connected to the die has a fast connection for fast and easy die change.
Operate the equipment by the hand wheel to change the dies. When the hand wheel is connected to the equipment, the protective devices no longer effect.
1) Adjust the dies to the connection position.
2) Disassemble the compressed air circuit from the trimming plates. (No need to move the dies)
3) Disassemble the chilling tubes. As there is fast connection, so no need to release the vacuum circuit.
4) Loose the low die bolts. Up rotate the upper die 90 degrees, and then remove them.
5) Disassemble the 4 bolts on the low die, and then remove the low die.

Разборка штампа
Штамп состоит из верхнего штампа, нижнего штампа, обрезающей пластины, комплекта присосок для захвата кусков мыла, комплекта присосок для захвата брусков мыла, других частей.
Верхний и нижний штампы имеют собственные контуры охлаждения. Разгрузочный механизм штампа имеет пневмоконтур и каждая трубка, подсоединенная к штампу, имеет быстросъемное соединение для проведения быстрой и легкой замены штампа.
Для проведения замены штампов оборудование должно быть в режиме ручного управления. При подсоединенном к оборудованию маховичке ручной подачи, все защитные механизмы дезактивированы.
1) Установите штампы в положение для монтажа.
2) Отсоедините пневмоконтур от обрезающих пластин (Штампы двигать не нужно)
3) Отсоедините трубки системы охлаждения. Так как они имеют быстросъемные соединения, то нет необходимости отсоединения вакуумного контура.
4) Ослабьте болты нижнего штампа. Разверните штамп на 90 градусов вверх и затем снимите его.
5) Открутите 4 болта нижнего штампа и затем снимите нижний штамп.

ANALYZING PARTICLE SIZE SEGREGATION
Overview
Segregation is driven by particle size differences. Therefore, it is useful to analyze the particle size distribution across the heap in order to quantify the extent of segregation. The excel workbook, HeapSegregation.xls, can be used to compute the particle size distribution in each slice and quantify the overall segregation. The excel workbook takes raw sieve data and computes the mean particle size in each slice and the variation in the mean particle size across the heap. There are two worksheets in the workbook. The first worksheet is used to compute the size segregation, or the particle size of each of the slices. The calculations in the size segregation sheet are accurately depict the particle size segregation in the heap. The second worksheet is used to estimate the compositional segregation of the granular mixture in each slice. This estimation is based on a mass balance and assumes that segregation is due to particle size differences, only. The results of the compositional segregation are merely estimates which predict trends. Analytical techniques to determine the composition of each slice are still necessary.

Для вычисления распределения размера частиц в каждом отсеке и количественного выражения сегрегации всей массы исследуемого материала удобно использовать электронные таблицы Excel «HeapSegregation.xls». На основании первичных данных просеивания в Excel рассчитывается средний размер частиц в каждом отсеке и показатель вариации среднего размера частиц в пределах толщи материала. Для этого в книге Excel открывают два листа. Первый лист используется для вычисления размера сегрегации или размера частиц каждого отсека. Расчеты размера сегрегации, производимые на этом листе, дают точное представление о сегрегации частиц по размеру в общей массе. Второй лист используется для оценки композиционной сегрегации гранулярной смеси в каждом отсеке. Данная оценка основывается на балансе массы и на предположении, что сегрегация имеет место исключительно вследствие различий размера частиц. Результаты расчетов композиционной сегрегации являются всего лишь оценками для прогнозирования тренда. Поэтому необходимо использование аналитических методов для определения состава каждого отсека.

2 . Grant of Rights
2.1 Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, XYZ hereby grants to the Licensee the following Exclusive rights within the Territory during the Term:
2.1.1 to translate edit and adapt the Course, subject to XYZ’s approval and in accordance with Clauses 3, and 4, in order to make the Licensed Edition;
2.1.2 to make or cause to be made Licensed Editions of the Course;
2.1.3 to sell and distribute Licensed Editions of the Course in the Licensed Markets only; and
2.1.4 to make and distribute or cause to be made and distributed Publicity Material and Support Material.
2.2 The Licensee shall produce the Licensed Edition and all its components in accordance with any product specification supplied or advised by XYZ, all applicable XYZ Policies and in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, industry standards or other requirements of any government or governmental agency including without limitation in relation to the sale of goods, consumer protection and/or product safety.
2.3 For the avoidance of doubt, the Licensee shall not:
2.3.1 copy, reproduce, translate edit, adapt, disassemble, reverse engineer, dub, rent, lease, lend, sub-license, sell or distribute the Course except as expressly permitted in accordance with clause 2.1;
2.3.2 reproduce, sell or distribute audio, visual and/or audio-visual clips of the Course or Licensed Editions;
2.3.3 use the Licensed Editions or any part thereof in combination with, or as a composite of, other content including text, data, photographs, illustrations, graphics, animation and/or video or audio segments to distribute and sell such combined or composite products;
2.3.4 broadcast or permit to be broadcast by any form of television or radio transmission, or exhibit or permit to be exhibited theatrically the Course or any Licensed Editions or any component thereof, or make any film, radio, television or video commercial featuring any aspect of the Course or the Licensed Editions without the prior written consent of XYZ;
2.3.5 use or authorise to be used the Course or Licensed Editions in a manner likely to bring XYZ, XYZ-1 or the XYZ-A into disrepute or which is defamatory of any person or organisation;
2.3.6 incorporate into any Licensed Editions or any Support Materials any advertisement of whatsoever nature other than advertisements for the Licensed Editions;
2.3.7 incorporate in a Licensed Edition or any component thereof any film, programme or other audio visual material derived from any other source;
2.3.8 re-brand or add any third party brand, name or trade marks to the Licensed Editions or any component thereof without the prior written consent of XYZ.

Тверді желатинові капсули № 0 з кришечкою чорного кольору і корпусом оранжевого кольору, що містять порошок жовто-оранжевого кольору.
Довільно відбирають 20 капсул і візуально перевіряють зовнішній вигляд.
Мають відповідати вимогам Ф. Європейської, 2002.
2. Ідентифікація.
Довільно відбирають 20 капсул, висипають вміст у змішувач й перемішують протягом 15 хв (середня проба).
2.1. Вітамін B1 (тіаміну гідрохлорид). 333,3 мг середньої проби (еквіва-лентної 10 мг вітаміну B1) поміщають в ділильну лійку місткістю 50 мл, дода-ють 10 мл води Р і 5 мл 2 % розчину натрію гідроксиду Р, перемішують, додають 0,5 мл розчину калію фероціаніду Р і 5 мл 2-бутанолу РІ. Масу струшують протягом 2 хв, дають шарам рідини розділитися. У верхньому (спиртовому) шарі спостерігається блакитна флуоресценція, особливо помітна в УФ-світлі за довжини хвилі 365 нм.

METHODS OF ANALYSIS
1. Description.
Solid gelatine capsules ¹ 0 with a black cap and orange case containing a yellow-orange powder.
20 capsules are selected at random and their appearance is visually checked.
The capsules should meet the requirements of EP, 2002.
2. Identification
Randomly select 20 capsules, empty their content into a mixer and mix for 15 minutes (average sample).
2.1. Vitamin B1 (thiamine hydrochloride). Place 333.3 mg of the average sample (equivalent to 10 mg of vitamin B1) in a 50 ml separating funnel, add 10 ml of water R and 5 ml of a 2 % solution of sodium hydroxide R, mix, and add 0.5 ml of potassium ferrocyanide solution R and 5 ml of 2-butanol RI. Shake the mass for 2 minutes, and let the liquid separate into layers. A blue fluorescence develops in the upper (alcohol) layer, which is especially visible in UV light at 365 nm.

Everyone has her/his way in the world of translation. As for me everything started with nothing more than my fondness of English in my high school. In addition to English I always liked Geography, Geology, and other Environmental sciences. Generally speaking I am an explorer. English was and still is for me a means of exploration of the world. However one day I realized that I was able a little bit more, for instance to help people understand others. And when I started my first professional job as an environmental consultant in one survey enterprise I was more and more involved in translating that gradually brought me to the freelance translators community.
Background
I have a Master Degree in Environmental Sciences from Northern Arizona University (2006, USA) and a university degree in Geography from Kharkiv State University (1987, Ukraine). In 2004 I was selected as a recipient of the U.S. Department of State E.S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship to complete a master research in the field of Environmental Sciences and Policy. As a result I spent two years (2004-2006) in the city of Flagstaff right at the edge of the Grand Canyon. That was not only a great opportunity to expand my academic horizon, computer skills but also to whet my English, especially academic writing. Upon my return to Ukraine I started working with several translation agencies and individual customers. This is exciting, challenging and rewarding in any terms!
I like what I do and this is what I need!
I translate from (into) English, Russian, and Ukrainian (more and more since Ukraine is now an independent country). My native language is Russian and my Ukrainian is very close to native because I was born and raised in Ukraine. Despite the fact that my academic expertise in Environmental sciences (Geography, Geology, Ecology, etc.) I do a lot of legal translations especially business contracts, laws, standards etc. My recent projects include: pesticide manuals and material safety data sheets (MSDS); contract documentation for mobile service company (in Moscow); draft of the law of Ukraine "On the state biosafety system for developing, testing, transport and usage of genetically modified organisms”; law of Ukraine “On Government Procurement of Goods, Works and Services"; engineering geology survey materials, engineering geology standards, advertising materials, standard operation procedures for P&G Ukraine. My average daily output is about 10 pages (250 words/page) depending on the complexity of the text. It is nothing fancy but I like meticulous, responsible and professionally looking job!
Recently I have become an active member in some on-line activities. You can see me more and more at Multitran.ru and other forums. This gives a lot of opportunities to share my research and world (and word!) exploration skills with others. So, this is why I have decided to join the ProZ community.
