Masato Tashiro, a member of the World Health Organization (WHO)’s emergency committee, and chief of the Influenza Research Centre at Japan’s National Institution of Infectious Diseases, also finds it strange that this new strain of influenza has almost no sufferers over 60.
Mr. Tashiro states, “60 to 65 years ago, there was a similar virus which may have provided the elderly with immunity”. America's National Aeuronautics Space Agency (NASA) has observed astronomical object dating back 13.1 billion years. This is the most distant light which humanity has ever witnessed, and the oldest astronomical object. Until now, this record was held by the 12.9-billion year old galactic images taken by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan's Subaru Telescope (Hawaii).
The images are of an explosion phenomenon known as a Gamma Ray Burst. It occurs when a gigantic star (over 10 times the weight of our sun) ends its life, becoming a black hole.
NASA's astronomical satellite Swift caught this image at around 5pm on the 23rd of April, when orientated towards the Leo constellation. Using this information as a base, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan's Okayama Astrophysical Observatory was able to observe the infrared levels straight after the explosion in order to specify when the event took place.
