I have eleven years' experience as a translator from Portuguese and Italian into English, and I have spent a year living in Italy and six years living in Brazil. While in Brazil I worked as an in-house translator for the Gazeta Mercantil financial newspaper and as a financial journalist for an American news agency.

I have worked for a wide range of companies in Europe and Brazil, specialising in legal, marketing and media texts. I frequently translate contracts, legal briefs, marketing surveys and technical texts. Recent projects have included producing daily press summaries of Italian press articles on Russian companies, translation of a large-scale Italian market research report and texts for a book on Brazilian footballing legend Pele. In 2004 I was a successful candidate in an EU competition for translators, having passed entrance exams from both Portuguese and Italian. I have taught translation workshops as part of the MA in Bilingual Translation at the University of Westminster. I also translate plays for the Royal Court Theatre and art books for a Brazilian publisher.


I hold the IoL's Diploma in Translation from Portuguese into English, having achieved a merit in paper one and distinctions in papers two and three. I was the winner of the Institute of Linguists' Richard Lewis Trophy for best overall performance in the Diploma in Translation in 2004.

I have a first degree in French and Italian from the University of Cambridge.
