About me

A freelance translator since 1999 and with in-house experience prior to that, I pride myself on being professional and reliable, delivering intelligent translation/editing/proofreading services within deadlines. I work quickly and efficiently, and can often work outside normal office hours.

I keep glossaries of terms organised by client and subject, and welcome feedback. I ask questions if necessary and do not guess if in doubt. Good communication with clients is a priority, which has been rewarded with excellent working relations over the years.

Now based back in the UK, I lived in France (Toulouse, Paris) for 7 years until 2002, a rewarding immersion in the French language, culture and lifestyle.

Outside my work, I have plenty of interests including tending my allotment (vegetables, flowers) and playing the cello.

I also hold a position of trust as the elected treasurer on the board of directors managing the fine Victorian mansion block where I live, with around 70 apartments.

I am studying on a distance learning course, Freelance Journalism and Feature Writing, with the London School of Journalism.

Last but definitely not least, I am a mother with a four-year-old boy, a role which is fun, interesting, challenging and very rewarding!
