CV/Resume English (DOC), Japanese (DOC)
About me
I am a sworn translator and interpreter of Japanese, English and Dutch with over 5 years of
professional experience.
I obtained my first M.A. from the Japanese Studies Department at Ghent University, graduating
with Great Distinction in 2003. Awarded with a Japanese Government scholarship, I subsequently
studied Japanese literature at the prestigious universities of Waseda and Sophia, where I
received a second M.A. with the maximum GPA.
Having lived in Tokyo for nearly 5 years, I returned to Belgium in the fall of 2009 to take up a
position as part-time lecturer at the Ghent University Japanese Studies Department. At present, I
combine my university job with translation and interpretation work.

Although Dutch is my mother tongue, I dare say my command of English is native level as well.
Attesting to this are my TOEIC (950) and TOEFL iBT (110) scores.
Over 11 years of studying the Japanese language and reading modern Japanese literature have
moreover polished my Japanese skills to a superb level, which allowed me to attain the
exceptionally high JLPT score of 362.
