During my studies I focused on the languages German (mother tongue), English (first foreign language), Spanish (second foreign language) and on the subject of Economics (field of expertise).
After this, I attended the “Translating” course of study at the University of Salford in Greater Manchester/UK and completed this course in 2005 with a “Postgraduate Diploma in Translating”.
After having been employed with several translation agencies (Pangeanic in Valencia/Spain; pLuS, Leyrer u. Storz, Localisation Services, in Waldbronn/Germany and Wohanka, Obermaier und Kollegen in Leipzig/Germany), I joined the BMW Group in Munich/Germany where I worked in the HR department for a period of three years. During this time I was already working as a part-time freelance translator. After undertaking a four-month full-time training course in the area of sales and marketing following my employment with the BMW Group, I decided to start working as a full-time freelance translator from September 2010. In addition, I am currently participating in a distance-learning course preparing for the exam Geprüfter Wirtschaftsfachwirt IHK [Specialist of Business Studies before the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce].
I have been sworn to the President of the Landgericht München I [Munich I Regional Court] as a translator for the English/German language since 2004, which means that I am permitted to undertake sworn translations for public authorities and courts of justice.
Furthermore, I am a full member of the Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer e. V. (BDÜ) [German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators].
