The herbicide type hormone contains active ingredients that cause considerable disorders in plants organisms even when applied in small doses. The observed effects were: abnormal elongating of cells, typically with the appearance of the following symptoms: twisting and thinning of the stem and leaves and other deformities, such as breaks on the stem, forming of aerial roots and distorted growth of the entire plant. The uncontrolled division of cells of the plants tissue caused by the herbicide’s hormones, cause such disproportion between the assimilation and balance of water on one side, and normal vegetative growth on the other, that the plant finally dies from exhaustion (makes it grow to death). After the application, the selective hormones of the herbicide are absorbed by the leaves, stems and roots of the plant and distributed through the circulation of sap throughout the organism (systemic activity through translocation). This makes these herbicides eradicate the propagation of roots from weeds, which other herbicides are ineffective against.
Monocots plants with a wide leaf are particularly sensitive to the herbicide type hormone used against weeds. Grass, including cereals and corn that belong to monocotyledons plants, are very resistant to the herbicide hormone because their points of vegetation are protected by a wrapper of leaves; also, the mesophilia is covered externally by a wax coating. This is the main reason why the selective control of the herbicide type hormone can be used against weeds in a variety of crops and with certain limitations with fields.

La hormona tipo herbicida contiene ingredientes activos que causan desórdenes considerables en los organismos de las plantas aún cuando son aplicados en dosis pequeñas. Los efectos observados son: elongación anormal de las células, y típicamente presentan los síntomas siguientes: retorcimiento y adelgazamiento del tallo y hojas y otras deformidades, tales como rompimiento del tallo, formación de raíces aéreas y crecimiento distorsionado de la planta completa. La división sin control de las células en el tejido de la planta causado por las hormonas del herbicida, cque causan una desproporción entre la asimilación y el balance del agua por un lado, y un crecimiento vegetativo normal por el otro, lo que causa que la planta finalmente muera por agotamiento (crecer para morir).
