What is an IEP?
The IEP, Individualized Education Program, is a written document that's developed for each public school child who's eligible for special education. The IEP is created through a team effort and reviewed at least once a year.
Before an IEP can be written, your child must be eligible for special. By federal law, a multidisciplinary team must determine that (1) she's a child with a disability and (2) she requires special education and related services to benefit from the general education program.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a federal law, requires certain information to be included in the IEP but doesn't specify how the IEP should look. Because states and local school systems may include additional information, forms differ from state to state and may vary between school systems within a state.

¿Qué es un IEP?
Un IEP (programa individualizado de educación, por su sigla en inglés) es un documento escrito elaborado en forma personalizada para los niños elegibles para recibir educación especial que asistan a escuelas públicas. El IEP se elabora a partir de un esfuerzo en equipo, y se revisa por lo menos una vez al año.
Antes de elaborar un IEP, su hijo debe ser elegible para recibir educación especial. Por ley federal, un equipo multidisciplinario debe determinar que (1) el niño posee una discapacidad y que (2) necesita recibir educación especial y servicios relacionados a fin de beneficiarse de un programa de educación general.
La Ley de educación de personas con discapacidades (IDEA, por su sigla en inglés), una ley federal, establece que se debe incluir determinada información en el IEP, aunque no especifica su formato. Dado que los sistemas escolares estatales y locales pueden incluir información adicional, los formularios difieren de acuerdo al estado, y pueden variar entre sistemas escolares dentro de un mismo estado.

A background check provides an employer with all the necessary information when hiring employees. Conducting background checks is now a common practice in all areas of business. Employers want to create and maintain a safe work environment for their employees, and in an effort to do so, conduct background checks. Background checks are obtained for a variety of reasons and are commonly used when positions involve dealing with minors, money, or vehicles or, when an employer is dealing with a vendor that requires its employees have a background check before working at the vendor’s location (ie. hospitals or public agencies that use contractors).
