I do regular translation, language editing and copywriting work in English and Afrikaans for one of the biggest advertising agencies in South Africa.

I have formal qualifications in languages. I started with English, Afrikaans and Latin at school and continued to complete a BA degree in languages, which included German, French, Hebrew, classical Greek and Setswana. I then completed a degree in Theology. In my free time I write short stories for children and make furniture as a hobby.

As a former diplomat to Germany and Slovakia I lived and worked in Europe for 7 years, where I had the opportunity to improve my German language skills. One of my duties was to translate analytical reports from government departments and foundations as well as news articles from the FAZ, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Frankfurter Rundschau on different topics into English.
