I studied translation at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, School
of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies in Germersheim, in the language
combination Greek-German-English.

Although my studies provided me with deep theoretical knowledge, their
focal point was the development of practical translation strategies and
interpreting skills. Furthermore, through the compulsory supplementary
non-linguistic subjects, I acquired specialized knowledge in law, economics
and business.

In addition, I have increased my knowledge in the areas of
computer-assisted translation, terminology work, Web-based research,
technical writing as well as in the aspects of interpersonal communications
that apply to the three languages I have specialized in and their
respective cultures.

During my studies, I worked as a freelance translator from German and
English into Greek as well as from Greek and English into German focusing
on economics, law, medicine, and technology. Moreover, working for
organizations like ZFNH (the Centre for Natural Healing Methods) in Germany
and Cyprus Airways at the Cyprus International Airport gave me the
opportunity to gain experience in liaison interpreting.
