My name is Erik and I am a Norwegian freelancer with years of translating experience. I am a technical translator but also offer all kinds of linguistic services including proofreading, editing and interpreting as well as other localization/regional consulting services.

Because of my unique background, I am bilingual and have been fluent in both English and Norwegian my whole life. I was born in Norway to a Norwegian mother and a British father. We moved to the United States when I was just one year old. I returned to Norway when I was 16 years old and graduated high school four years later. At the age of 20 I returned to the U.S. where I studied computer engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Of course, I eventually returned to my beloved homeland and currently reside in Norway.

I have translation experience in a wide range of fields, but specialize in computers, IT, e-commerce, electronics, audio/video, gaming (gambling) sites and software localization.

I have excellent computer skills and experience with all sorts of software packages. I use several CAT tools including Across and Wordfast, however I prefer Trados.

My rates are negotiable based on project frequency, size, content nature, etc. I have no problem with tight deadlines, and guarantee my work will be on time.

My experience as a technical translator, education with computers and my background in the United States and Norway makes me uniquely qualified for a wide range of projects.
