When the silane manifold and cylinders are located in a confined environment, walls, floor and ceiling shall be made exclusively of non combustible materials of at least 2 hours fire rating. They shall be under a forced ventilated exhaust system to the open air which goes on automatically, in order to evacuate any fumes in case of a fire. A sprinkler system shall be above the manifold and all the cylinders in order to cool them automatically in case of a fire. The automation of these systems are connected to silane detectors or fire sensors which are located just above the manifolds and the cylinders.
Each cylinder shall be connected to the manifold through an automatic shut off valve (normally closed). These shut off valves are actuated through plastic hose which melt in case of fire.
The cylinder valves and manifold connections shall be easily accessible for operators : cylinders on only one row (if there is an access on only one side of the row) or on two rows (if there is an access on both sides of the rows).

Quando il manicotto del silano e le bombole sono poste in un ambiente chiuso, i muri, il pavimento e il soffitto devono essere costruiti esclusivamente con materiali non combustibili con una classificazione di resistenza alla fiamma di almeno 2 ore. Deve essere presente un sistema di scarico dei fumi ventilato artificialmente verso l’aria aperta che si attiva automaticamente per evacuare tutti i fumi in caso di incendio. Un impianto antincendio automatico deve essere presente sopra i manicotti e tutte le bombole in modo da raffreddarli automaticamente in caso di incendio. Gli automatismi di questi sistemi sono collegati ai rilevatori di silano o ai sensori antincendio che sono posti appena sopra i manicotti e le bombole.
Ogni bombola deve essere connessa al manicotto attraverso una valvola di blocco automatica (normalmente chiusa). Queste valvole di blocco sono attivate attraverso connessioni di plastica che si sciolgono in caso di incendio.
Le valvole della bombola e le connessioni dei manicotti devono essere facilmente accessibili agli operatori : le bombole devono essere in un unica fila (se è possibile accedere ad un unico lato della fila) oppure in due file (se è possibile accedere a entrambi i lati delle file).
