This chapter discusses findings concerning facial growth as relates to the method of operation of functional appliances. As a new millenium approaches, an extraordinary evolution of the art and science of orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedics has occurred, resulting mainly from the willingness of researchers to ask questions concerning the relationships among craniofacial growth mechanisms and the methods of operation of orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic appliances. Ovo poglavlje bavi se pronalascima koji se tiču facijalnog rasta vezanih za metodu rada funkcionalnih sprava. Sa približavanjem novog milenijuma, javlja se posebna evolucija vještine i nauke ortodontske i dentofacijalne ortopedije, koja je nastala uglavnom zbog spremnosti istraživača da postavljaju pitanja koja se tiču odnosa između mehanizama kraniofacijalnog rasta i metoda djelovanja dentofacijalnih ortopedskih aparata. Korištenje modernih konceptualnih i instrumentalnih sredstava u takvim istraživanjima čini da potraga za odgovorima bude shvatljiva i ostvariva. |
