I have over a decade of experience providing high-quality translations and edits under extreme time constraints. When I take on an urgent job, I see it through to on-time completion, even if it occasionally means working through the night. For example, on one occasion, I was sent 33 pages of litigation documentation by a client who needed the translation within 18 hours of contacting me. I put on a pot of coffee, sat down at my keyboard, and got the job done and delivered...with two hours to spare!

As a translator, I understand that, for many clients these days, "impossible" time frames are the norm. At the pace business keeps these days, many clients need their documents translated yesterday, if not sooner. That's where I come in. While I haven't yet come up with a way to send my translations back in time, I can promise that I dedicate my full energy to meeting even the most pressing deadlines.

Going right to the source

A good translation requires more than the ability to look up terms; however, when there are terms to look up, the right resources can be crucial. Dictionaries, even highly specialised technical dictionaries, are only of limited utility when it comes to highly specific terminology. That's why I go right to primary sources. In addition to a wide variety of mono- and bilingual dictionaries, I maintain a diverse library of standard reference works in my specialties. My personal library ranges from Prosser & Keeton on Torts, through the Palandt commentary on the German Civil Code, to Rosen's Emergency Medicine and Neuroendocrinology in Medicine and Physiology. Study of and access to all of these primary sources gives me not only the terms, but the background knowledge to know how and when to use them.
