Through my academic research work on clothing and textiles and my professional experience in the industry itself I have come to not only know in detail textile production and state-of-the-art machinery employed in these processes but also the product itself: a piece of clothing designed and manufactured to please the customer. Thanks to my employments in the travel industry, I have also gained a broad knowledge in that field and the specific marketing language that comes with it.
Having always been intrigued by the creative aspect of translating, I translate marketing and press texts as well literature. I took part in a three-months-exchange programme for young literary translators from Germany and France and have already done first literature and theatre translations. As I acquired excellent research skills throughout my studies I am qualified to take on translation jobs with texts of a rather general vocabulary in different domains, especially when it is about adding a creative twist to the German text and making sure that it does not have a “smell” of translation.
The theoretical base to rely on in my work as a freelance translator is my degree in translation and the fact of having lived in France, Great Britain and Spain has provided me with practical insights and a high general knowledge of the cultures and languages I work with. As I am currently living in Germany, my German is sure to be fresh and correct and I always make sure to deliver on time and provide high quality translations at competitive prices.
