I have been working as a translator for 17 years since 1992. The first 8 years as a secondary job, of course, as you need to gain certain experience to know what is going on in a real business, what terminology is used, etc. so that your translations are easy to understand.
I work for several Czech agencies as well as a number of international clients. Though I am quite busy, there are many business opportunities I want to take advantage of working with more international clients.
