Bio
I am a fourty-five year old single mother, born in Moçambique, who became a refugee in the Republic of South Africa, with political asylum, forced out by a coup`de tat, where I obtained a new identity, and studied, was forced to translate all the modules for my father, of the mining sections where he woked and where he successfully worked twenty years, I was eleven and had to translate for my parents when they had interviews with government members, even had to translate the news on TV. To me this was a hobby and included all varieties and type of translations, I translated visa applications, birth certificates, wills, than I started doing my translations course through UNISA, by correspondence, while studing chemical engineering, dropped out,but worked further in banking five years, furniture, five years, chemical analyst onother five years, through personal experience in death of a son, marriage, divorce etc, and always maintaining Portuguese as home language, I am completely bilingual. On arriving in Portugal 10 years ago, did accountaing aand management, also worked in Dublin as translator for Atlanco, and I didnt even realise I could actually make a profession of it, I used to translate for free in the various companies I worked while excercising other positions. Recently, I started suffering from backpain and can only work part-time so would like to obtain an extra income. I also had Afrikaans at school and all documents were strictly bylingual, and had German at school.
I wonder now why I did`nt make it a profession. I worked for Mnet cable tV part time, they sent me scripts to translate.
