I produce thoughtful, accurate and precise translations to tight deadlines. Having lived and worked here in France for more than 10 years, I have an excellent level of French language. It is often said that being bilingual doesn’t make someone a good translator, and this is certainly true. However, my command of the French language and immersion in the country and culture means that I understand not only the vocabulary but also the cultural references and inferences in your text perfectly. Since I have been in France, I have always kept in close contact with the UK, both professionally and with friends, family and the media. Consequently, you can be confident that my English is up to date, and of a high professional standard.
From 1998 to 2008 I worked for the French subsidiary of a British company in various locations throughout France. As one of few French speakers on an English-speaking staff, translating and interpreting were my main roles. Having gained 10 years of experience, I set up as a freelance translator and interpreter in October 2008.
My chosen areas of specialisation are: business, as I have a degree in international management; tourism, having worked in the sector for 10 years; and the property market, which is a particular interest of mine.

Since I graduated, I have worked for international companies both in France and the UK, always in bilingual (French-English) environments.
I work with Windows Vista, Microsoft Office 2003 Professional and Trados Studio 2009. All my work is backed up daily, and kept in a secure, off-site location. The confidentiality of client data and the high level of service I provide to my customers are of paramount importance to me.
