Bio
Translating and Interpreting are something I grew to love. As a child languages fascinated me. Words and phrasal expressions were something that intrigued me. English in particular was a language that had arrested my attention and imagination. I taught myself the language by using an old English language learning book called Essential English, which was printed in 1942. That was the only book that I could get hold of after the fall of communist Albania in 1991.
Being one of the few people in town to speak English I soon started to interpret for the English speaking visitors. I have interpreted and translated for a number of NGO that have been involved in different areas such as humanitarian aid, reconstruction of hospitals and schools, social work among abandoned children, orphans, refugees from the Kosovo conflict ect. I have been involved as well in interpreting for the local goverment and different mayors of my home town with politicians and visiting business people from outside Albania.
In England I have interpreted for Immigration, Courts and Social Services as well as in hospitals, solicitors and different businesses.
In my 15 year career I have translated 6 books and 20 booklets as well as numerous leaflets and brochures.
I love working as an interpreter and translator and words and expressions still fascinate me. I believe that words are one of the most wonderful thing that has been given to us and I want to use them right and help people connect to ideas, emotions, imaginations and cultures. Give my a try and you will not be disappointed.
