Our Sailing Club
The SC RHE has been founded in 1955 in Königsberg, Prussia. We are the oldest sailing club in Germany. Since 1946 we have our headquarters in Hamburg.
Of course, we are proud of our traditions, but on the other hand we have remained young and dynamic. We care for a good comradeship which is going farther than sailing. According to our statutes we are promoting the non-professional sailing sport, in particular high sea sailing, youth sailing and also the ideas of navigation. Our motto : sailing “together” on club-owned yachts!
A lot of our members who started once as sailing children on “optimists”, are now skippers on our club-owned yachts. They are the same who now in turn take young people on board in their crews to teach them what sailing is all about, give them nautical knowledge and skill further. This allows them to acquire a sailing certificate (from the club), to take themselves responsibility on our club yachts and in turn to teach what they learned.
We are also socializing on land. In the course of the years there are now a few traditional events in our cosy club house situated over the Elbe and they are always well frequented. Our winter programme is also taking place in our club house: nautical lessons during which also experienced sailors are still learning.
Together we accomplish what nobody can do alone!

D’une part, nous sommes fiers de nos traditions et d’autre part, nous sommes restés jeunes et dynamiques. Nous cultivons une bonne camaraderie qui va bien au-delà du sport à voile. D’après nos statuts, nous favorisons le sport à voile amateur, en particulier la voile de grand fond en mer, la voile pour les jeunes ainsi que les pensées de la navigation. Notre spécialité : le sport à voile « ensemble » sur des bateaux de notre club.
Beaucoup de nos membres, qui ont débuté en tant qu’enfants sur un dériveur du type » Optimiste», sont capitaines de voile en mer sur un des yachts appartenant à notre club. Ce sont ceux-là même, qui à leur tour prennent à leur bord des jeunes comme membres d’équipage, leur apprennent ce qu’est la voile, leur enseignent les connaissances nautiques et les forment en matelots. Cela permet à ces jeunes d’acquérir un certificat de voile (du club), de prendre un poste de responsabilité sur un des yachts de notre club et d’enseigner à leur tour ce qu’est le sport de la voile.
Bien sûr, nous sommes aussi sociables à terre. Au courant des années il y a quelques manifestations traditionnelles dans les locaux confortables de notre club qui se situe au dessus de l’Elbe et elles sont toujours bien fréquentées. Notre programme d’hiver a également lieu dans les locaux de notre club: enseignement de perfectionnement nautique, pendant lequel même les « vieux habitués » apprennent encore toujours.
Ensemble nous réalisons, ce que personne ne peut faire tout seul !
