Die Sojabohne ist eine der ältesten Nutzpflanzen der Erde. Seit rund 5000 Jahren wird sie in China und Japan hauptsächlich für die menschliche Ernährung angebaut. Schon damals wusste man, dass kaum eine andere Hülsenfrucht so reich an Nährstoffen ist wie die Sojabohne. Sie hat einen sehr hohen Eiweißgehalt (30 bis 50 Prozent), enthält bis zu 23 Prozent Kohlenhydrate und 24 Prozent Öl (Fette). Deshalb wurde sie in den 20er Jahren auch in den USA vorwiegend zur Ölgewinnung und als Eiweißgrundlage in Futtermitteln angebaut.
Sojabohnen aus kontrolliert biologischem Anbau
Im ökologischen Lebensmittelherstellung von Soja werden weder bei Anbau noch bei der Verarbeitung chemisch-synthetische Hilfsmittel verwendet. Auch Gentechnik kommt nicht zum Einsatz - denn wo keine Herbizide eingesetzt werden benötigt man auch keine herbizidresistenten Pflanzen.
Das Grundprinzip des biologischen Landbaus und der Naturkostherstellung basiert auf einem verantwortlichen Umgang mit der Natur. Neben gesundheitlichen Aspekten gilt auch der Grundsatz der Achtung für Mensch und Umwelt. Zusätzlich zu diesen selbstgewählten Kriterien unterliegen Anbau und Herstellung dieser Nahrungsmittel streng festgelegten Rechtsvorschriften. Eine europaweit gültige Kontrollfunktion stellen die Richtlinien der EG-Bio-Verordnung dar. Alle in Europa hergestellten sowie dorthin importierten Lebensmittel unterliegen dieser Verordnung, die auch eindeutig die Verwendung von genmanipulierten Rohstoffen und Saatgut untersagt. Sojabohnen aus kontrolliert biologischem Anbau stammen heute hauptsächlich aus den USA und Kanada sowie aus den europäischen Ländern England, Frankreich und Österreich.
Seit einiger Zeit wird der biologische Sojaanbau auch in Deutschland praktiziert. Erste Projekte zeigen, dass trotz der klimatisch erschwerten Bedingungen ein regionaler Anbau möglich ist. | Translation - English
The soybean is one of the world's oldest agricultural plants. It has been grown in China and Japan for 5000 years, mostly for human consumption. In addition to these self chosen criteria the cultivation and production of such foods are subject to stringent legal regulations. The European Union Regulation 2092/91/EEC »Organic Agriculture« represents a control mechanism for all of Europe. All foodstuffs produced in or imported to Europe are subject to this Regulation, which also unequivocally prohibits the use of genetically altered raw materials and seeds. Organically grown soybeans nowadays mostly come from the USA and Canada as well as the European countries England, France and Austria. Organic soy cultivation has also been practised for some time in Germany. First projects show that a regional cultivation is possible despite difficult climatic conditions. |
