My experience includes translation and editing in the language pair: English<>Chinese (both traditional and simplified). I've worked with a wide variety of subjects: general conversation, personal/business letters, diabetes, Chinese medicine, law, patents, etc. I translated and edited user guides and product inserts for Bayer medical products and have experience working on-site.
I also translate/proofread tv and movie subtitles.
I have a strong technical background. I worked on the computer graphics aspect of a movie about a clown fish, and also as a software developer for an educational mathematics website.

Education:
M.A. Mathematics , University of California - Davis , June 2001.
B.A. Mathematics , University of California - Berkeley , December 1999.
I am native in Mandarin Chinese (traditional) and near-native in American English (no detectable accent). I was born in Taiwan and grew up there until the age of eighteen. There I completed 13 years of education including one year at National Taiwan University (the top-ranked university in the country). Then I moved to the U.S. and have lived here for the last ten years. As a result, I am very familiar with the nuances of both cultures. | Keywords: traditional chinese, taiwan, localization, html, java, computers, math, mathematics, technical, subtitling |
