Fahd Hassanein is a senior Egyptian translator with a degree in pharmacy from Cairo University. He is specialized and experienced in translating life-sciences and patent-related texts in the Arabic-English language pair.
Fahd’s professional translation career evolved through several stages. Before embarking on the freelance translation career, he worked as a website content editor for an Arabic/English portal. His work was primarily concerned with translating and editing content in both language directions. He then worked in providing translation services at a reputable translation company, a stage at which he worked alongside project management, business development and vendor management teams. This helped build his awareness of the translation process starting from the initial offering of translation services to the client up to delivering the final localized product.
With an expansive background of traveling to different places during his childhood and afterwards, he was able to note the various cultural factors affecting multilingual communication regarding aspects of cultural sensitivity and the importance of accurate language usage. This helped fuel his interest in the effect of cultural awareness and subject specialization on the quality and validity of translation.
