In other words:
I was always interested in everything that floats, I spent 12 years in the Federal German Navy and collected a wide range of naval literature in both English and German. Maritime translation is the main field I am working in. I am not a landlubber, I know the terms!
The previous years I was extremely busy with translating instructions found in model kits. It is always great to turn a hobby into a profession!
Another area I am specialised in, is the spectrum of renewable energies with the main emphasis on wind energy. I translated a couple of documents and my clients were always very satisfied with my work.
Beside the naval and wind energy translations, I am an able translator of more general and/or technical texts in various fields such as manuals, marketing or websites.
I am 43 years old, I consider myself as having a broad range of general knowledge and I am always open to new challenges.
I am a member of ADÜ-Nord.
Happy translating ~ Olaf Held

"I received an enthusiastic feedback from Marinearchiv Webmaster and other "naval" German historians/friends about your English-to-German translation of my "Battle of Denmark Strait" article today.
They all were extremely satisfied with your very accurate and professional work and I just wanted to pass this on to you!!!"
