Nous devons reconnaître que, très souvent, ----- est amenée à travailler dans des contextes de relative insécurité. La pauvreté et la souffrance des populations auxquelles ------ vient en aide sont des violences en tant que telles qui se reflètent inévitablement dans leur vie quotidienne.
Nos efforts pour accompagner et aider les victimes nous conduisent à travailler dans des environnements hostiles et nous exposent à un danger individuel accru. Il est donc indispensable de nous protéger et de gérer au mieux les risques auxquels nous sommes confrontés.
Gérer les risques passe tout d’abord par la connaissance du contexte d’intervention, des programmes et des procédures mises en place pour limiter les risques. Mais surtout, c’est un état d’esprit permanent qui doit nous conduire à intégrer le « facteur risque » dans toute action entreprise et ne pas le considérer comme une contrainte, affaire des seuls « spécialistes de la sécurité ».
La présentation et l'organisation de ce guide sont destinées à répondre aux principales questions relatives à la sécurité que tous les employés d’----- se poseront un jour. Il ne contient aucune information confidentielle et sa lecture est recommandée à tous les expatriés et employés.
Aucun guide ne peut prévoir ou donner une réponse à chaque situation. Les procédures décrites sont des modèles issus de l’expérience d’------- à travers le temps.

It’s an unfortunate reality that ------ frequently works in areas which can be relatively unsafe. The poverty and suffering that afflict the populations ------ comes to help are reflected inevitably, and violently, in their daily lives.
Our efforts to follow and assist victims lead us to work in hostile areas, exposed to a high level of individual risk. Therefore, self-protection and risk management are absolutely necessary.
Risk management entails first of all knowing the context of the intervention, the programs and the procedures put into place to limit risk. But most of all, it’s a permanent state of mind in which the "risk factor" is integrated into each action taken, instead of being considered a nuisance and the sole domain of "security professionals".
The presentation and organization of this guide are meant to answer the main questions about security faced by all ------ employees at one point or another. It does not contain any confidential information and reading it is recommended to all expatriates and employees.
No guide can predict or provide answers to every possible situation. The following procedures are examples taken from the experiences of ------’s employees over a long period of time.
