5. Biofuel Cities – Features on Offer
The Biofuel Cities project
• co-ordinates the Biofuel Cities European Partnership, a forum for all stakeholders in the area of biofuel and energy-efficient vehicles;
• maintains this website;
• provides events and online facilities that offer twinning, project co-operation, and networking opportunities;
• organises expert workshops and study tours demonstrating practical examples of biofuel application;
• delivers newsletters and a range of publications to provide information on biofuel developments, including good practice cases, guidance and reports;
• develops tools for monitoring, standardisation of biofuels and biofuel application.
European Partnership participants have full access to all services and benefits. Participation is free of charge and does not lead to any obligation.

6. Is the Biofuel Cities European Partnership for me?
Biofuel Cities co-ordinates the Biofuel Cities European Partnership, a forum for all stakeholders in the area of biofuels and energy-efficient vehicles.
The European Partnership welcomes potential and actual end-users of biofuels, for example local governments and commercial end-users; businesses in the entire biofuels supply chain, from feedstock providers to investors to the vehicle industry; researchers, national and supra-national government representatives and standardisation bodies, and of course associations, non-governmental organisations and the media active in the biofuels sector.
Participants benefit from
• up to-date information on, and easy access to, biofuel projects and actors in the EU;
• access to tested know-how and good practice;
• tools for finding funding, investment, and project partners;
• links to market information, e.g. fuel prices, feedstock, vehicles;
• exchanges of experience with peers as well as with other stakeholders;
• opportunities to influence policies and criteria, especially at the EU level.
Services include
• full access to the Biofuel Cities website;
• exchange with peers via the Biofuel Cities interactive mailing list, as well as subscriptions to the Biofuel Cities Update e-newsletter and Biofuel Cities Quarterly print newsletter;
• free access to further services and products, such as workshops, study tours, and publications.

7. Biofuel Cities – Project facts
The Biofuel Cities project runs from mid-2006 to mid-2009. It is a “Co-ordination Action” project funded by the Sixth Research Framework Programme of the European Union, under the Activity “Alternative Motor Fuels: Biofuel Cities”.
Biofuel Cities is brought to you by seven partners that share unique and extensive experiences not only on biofuels research and application and sustainable mobility, but also on the specific needs of local governments, enterprises, as well as on requirements for assessment and communication.

Το πρόγραμμα Biofuel Cities

Having got a B.Sc. (Hons) in Naval Architecture from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, I started my career in Athens as an engineer and trainer, working for the Hellenic Aerospace Industry for 9 years. After getting married, I resided in Nafplio where I taught English as a Foreign Language for 14 years in the private sector. Needing a change, I turned to translation, studied and got a Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists, England, and using my engineering background I specialized in technical translations from English into Greek. Since 2004, when I returned to Athens, I have attended seminars and have translated about 2,000,000 words for various companies worldwide.
My experience in translation covers scientific texts, technical manuals of varying nature, software & website localization, and medical equipment. Please see my CV for further details about my experience.
I normally use SDL TRADOS 2006, but have occasionally used Sat Transit PE, SDLX, Passolo, and Alchemy Publisher 2.0.
