Its brutal elegance stole the ‘Most Beautiful Bike’ award and raised the bar for extreme nakeds. Now, production of the Streefighter and Streetfighter S starts and Ducati dealerships all over the world crave their imminent early model year 2010 arrivals from Bologna, Italy.

Streetfighter made good
The Streetfighter culture was born on the backstreets of Northern Europe during the late 70s and 80s. If the Café racer movement had taken traditional bikes and transformed them to establish out-and-out sport bikes, then Streetfighters were definitely anti-establishment. They evolved by removing the fairings from sport bikes, fitting higher bars and customising to create high-performance, over-the-top nakeds. Now, Ducati have taken that concept and applied their own Italian sophistication to a stunning, factory-prepared Streetfighter.
The Ducati Streetfighter is equipped with everything that made the Superbike a legend: Awesome L-Twin muscle with brutal, big-bore torque, thoroughbred chassis technology, beautiful single-sided swingarm, planet-stopping Monobloc brakes and pure, sophisticated class.

Take control
The Streetfighter riding position is empowering. The lightweight aluminium, tapered bars are higher than the Superbike, but still flat enough to ride hard, so machine control is enhanced and the relationship with the front-end in tact. Considerable study on seat, footpeg and handlebar position has maximised comfort without losing the feeling that you’re aboard an extreme naked Ducati.
Showing attention to detail typical of all new Ducatis, the handlebars are gripped by beautifully shaped clamps that flow sleekly into the bar-risers. Even the switchgear has been revised to represent minimalism at its best. The slim-line bodies house easy-to-use switches and buttons with new features like the unique weapons-like ‘trigger catch’ that slides down to cover the starter button when activating the kill-switch. Semi-rigid brake and clutch reservoirs are small, low and compact and feed slim, radial master-cylinders by Brembo to complete the clean and uncluttered controls arrangement.
The Streetfighter’s instrumentation continues that same clean look with a new compact shape that blends into the aggressive line of the headlight. Information additional to the default read-outs is managed from the left-hand handlebar-mounted switch gear, allowing the rider to scroll through and select from various menus. The display presents rpm and speed, with the former displayed across the screen in a progressive bar graph. Additionally, the instruments display lap times, DTC status and level selected (if activated on Streetfighter S) time, air temperature, coolant temperature, battery voltage, two trips and a trip that automatically starts as the fuel system goes onto reserve. Warning lights illuminate to signify neutral, turn signals, high beam, rev-limit, low oil pressure, fuel reserve, DTC intervention (if activated on Streetfighter S) and scheduled maintenance. The instrument display is also used as the control panels for the DDA and DTC systems as well as listing lap times recorded by using the high-beam flash button as a stopwatch.
A chassis born to fight
With the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class, the Streetfighter had to have rock-solid handling and a well-planted front-end to match. A purpose-built Trellis frame takes care of business at the front-end by using 25.6° of rake compared to the Superbike’s 24.5°, and a 35mm longer single-sided swingarm at the rear ensures the Streetfighter’s acceleration need never be compromised. The longer, beautifully created aluminium swingarm follows the same dual construction detail as the Superbike models and is anodised finished in black.
The lower triple-clamp also gets more muscle treatment. Formed in a strength-giving gull-wing shape for even more rigidity, it maintains a vice-like grip on the fork legs, giving a precise and solid feeling through the bars on fast direction changes.
The revised rake, longer wheelbase and cross-mounted steering damper ensure stability even under the extreme acceleration of Ducati’s incredible L-Twin torque.
Suspension
The Streetfighter is armed with fully adjustable 43mm Showa forks up front and a fully adjustable Showa monoshock at the rear, giving the bike high performance agility and the rider absolute ‘feel’ and confidence from sure-footed handling.
The forks feature a natural chrome slider finish and radial mounts for the brake calipers and are fully adjustable in spring preload as well as compression and rebound damping. On the rear, the single Showa unit operates through a progressive linkage and is also fully adjustable in spring preload and damping, both in compression and rebound.
The Streetfighter S pushes the spec way up with 43mm Superbike-spec Öhlins forks that have sliders treated in low-friction TiN. Fully adjustable in spring preload and precisely adjustable in compression and rebound damping, they ensure ‘S’ feeling and finesse when the fight gets rough.
Taking care of the rear of the ‘S’ is a single high-spec Öhlins unit fully adjustable in spring preload with full adjustment and highly engineered control of compression and rebound damping. The unit is also fitted with a ride enhancing top-out spring which helps maintain rear tyre contact under extreme conditions.
Important attention to performance detail is inherited from its Superbike bloodline with both the Streetfighter and Streetfighter S having rear ride-height adjusters that allow fine correction after setting personalised spring preload.
Wheels
New style 10-spoke wheels in lightweight aluminium keep the overall motorcycle weight down and maintain an all-important control on unsprung weight. This weight is made up of all the components between the suspension and the road and consists of wheels, tyres, brake discs and calipers etc, but when rotating at high speed, it is the wheels that store most of the kinetic energy and offer the most resistance when steering, accelerating or braking. Their weight saving, therefore, is a serious contribution to both the handling and the performance of the bike and the Streefighter pulls out all the stops to be the best.
The Streetfighter S reduces weight even further by using Y-shaped, 5-spoke wheels by Marchesini, forged and then machined in lightweight aluminium.
The Streetfighter wheels are finished in graphite grey and the ‘S’ in bronze with both models rolling out on Pirelli Diablo Corse III tyres.
Brakes
Both the Streetfighter and Streetfighter S use Brembo’s powerful Monobloc caliper race technology. Machined from a single piece of alloy, the calipers achieve higher rigidity and resistance to distortion during extreme braking. The result not only delivers planet-stopping brake power, but also gives an enhanced and precise ‘feel’ at the brake lever. The twin Monobloc calipers each have quadruple 34mm pistons that grip huge 330mm discs to achieve their spectacular performance. The weight of the discs has been kept to a minimum by using racing-style narrow braking surfaces.
Power house
The world-beating 1098 Testastretta Evoluzione needs little introduction. Debuting in 2007, it went on to form the basis of a motor that powered Ducati to Superstock and Superbike World titles that left the competition stunned. Now, its massive bore, short stroke and incredible torque powers Ducati’s most extreme naked and the results are equally as stunning.
Producing a ballistic 85lb-ft (11.7kgm) of torque and 155hp (114kW), the Streetfighter’s awesome 1098 power house fears nothing of the naked sports competition. The L-Twin, 4 valves per cylinder, Desmo, Testastretta Evoluzione engine gives both the best power-to-weight and the best torque-to-weight ratios in its class.
New features include enhanced detailing on the cam belt covers and the magnesium dry clutch cover as well as a new black finish for the main outer casings and carbon-grey finish for the crankcases, which employ the same weight-saving technology used for the 1198.
The vacuum die-cast process used to make the crankcases ensures consistent and precise wall thickness and increased strength from absolute material purity while reducing weight an incredible 3kg (6.5lb) compared to those of the 1098 Superbike engine.
Using the Testastretta narrow valve angle, super-straight intake ducts and specially shaped combustion chambers, the 1099cc motor continues to breathe through MotoGP-derived elliptical throttle bodies and large diameter valves to achieve its incredible spread of torque.
A high performance six-speed box and racing-style dry clutch makes sure the transmission package delivers 155hp as efficiently as possible.
The Streetfighter’s power house is protected by twin coolant radiators, carefully curved in pure naked style for optimum performance and stunning with visual effect. The upper radiator is assisted by lightweight, high flow electric fan assemblies while the lower sits in the front of the belly pan, which also houses a highly efficient oil heat exchanger.

Prendi il comando
La posizione di guida sullo Streetfighter comunica la massima sicurezza. Il manubrio in alluminio leggero a sezione variabile è rialzato rispetto alla Superbike, ma ancora abbastanza orizzontale da consentire al pilota di spingere al massimo, migliorando il controllo del mezzo e lasciando invariato il feeling con l’avantreno. Uno studio approfondito sulla posizione della sella, delle pedane e del manubrio ha portato al massimo comfort senza intaccare la sensazione di stare seduti su una naked estrema creata da Ducati.
Dimostrando una cura per i dettagli tipica di tutti i nuovi modelli Ducati, i blocchetti di fissaggio superiore del manubrio, dal design raffinato, si inseriscono con eleganza nei cavallotti di montaggio inferiori. Anche il blocchetto elettrico è stato rivisto in chiave minimalista, con involucri compatti che contengono pulsanti e comandi facili da usare, e con nuovi elementi esclusivi quali la ‘sicura’ che, come in un’arma, scende a nascondere l’interruttore di avviamento quando si preme il pulsante di spegnimento del motore. I serbatoi semirigidi del freno e della frizione, ribassati e compatti, alimentano le snelle pompe radiali Brembo, completando in maniera pulita e lineare la disposizione dei comandi.
Lo stesso look essenziale viene ripreso dalla strumentazione dello Streetfighter, la cui innovativa forma compatta sfuma con eleganza nella linea aggressiva del gruppo ottico. I dati aggiuntivi rispetto ai valori di default vengono gestiti da un blocchetto elettrico montato a sinistra sul manubrio, che permette al pilota di scorrere vari menu ed effettuare selezioni. Il display mostra i giri/min e la velocità (il primo valore sotto forma di un grafico a barre progressivo). La strumentazione visualizza inoltre tempi sul giro, stato e livello selezionato del DTC (se attivato sullo Streetfighter S), orario, temperatura dell’aria, temperatura dell’acqua, tensione della batteria, due indicazioni di percorrenza e un’altra indicazione di autonomia che si attiva automaticamente all’inizio della riserva. Sono previsti indicatori luminosi di folle, frecce, abbaglianti, limite giri, pressione olio insufficiente, riserva di carburante, intervento DTC (se attivato sullo Streetfighter S) e manutenzione programmata. Il cruscotto funge inoltre da quadro comandi per i sistemi DDA e DTC e mostra i tempi sul giro registrati utilizzando come cronometro il pulsante del ‘lampeggio proiettori’.
Un telaio nato per combattere
Grazie al miglior rapporto potenza/peso della sua categoria, lo Streetfighter è caratterizzato da grande maneggevolezza e da un avantreno incollato a terra. Il Telaio a Traliccio appositamente studiato lavora all’anteriore sfruttando un’inclinazione del cannotto di 25,6° rispetto ai 24,5° della Superbike, mentre al posteriore un forcellone monobraccio allungato di 35mm garantisce sempre un’accelerazione senza compromessi. Per il forcellone allungato in alluminio anodizzato rifinito in nero, splendidamente costruito, è stata utilizzata la stessa doppia tecnica costruttiva applicata ai modelli Superbike.
Tecnica costruttiva più ‘muscolosa’ anche per la base di sterzo a tre viti. Conformata ad ala di gabbiano per incrementare la robustezza e la rigidità, stringe in una morsa i piedini della forcella, trasmettendo grande sicurezza e solidità al manubrio nei cambi di direzione veloci.
Il nuovo angolo di inclinazione del cannotto, l’interasse allungato e l’ammortizzatore di sterzo trasversale offrono stabilità anche alle accelerazioni estreme, garantite dall’incredibile coppia del Bicilindrico a L Ducati.
Sospensioni
Lo Streetfighter è equipaggiato con forcelle Showa da 43mm interamente regolabili all’anteriore e con un monoammortizzatore Showa completamente regolabile al posteriore, che offrono grande agilità alle alte prestazioni per la moto e massimo feeling e sicurezza per il pilota, grazie a maneggevolezza e stabilità straordinarie.
La forcella è dotata di steli con rivestimento cromato naturale e attacchi radiali per le pinze dei freni, con precarico della molla e freno in compressione ed estensione completamente regolabili. Al retrotreno, il monoammortizzatore Showa sfrutta un cinematismo progressivo ed è anch’esso completamente regolabile nel precarico molla e freno in compressione ed estensione.
Ancora più estreme le caratteristiche tecniche dello Streetfighter S, con forcella Öhlins da 43mm settata su specifiche Superbike e dotata di steli con rivestimento TiN ad attrito ridotto. La forcella, con il precarico della molla completamente regolabile e la possibilità di regolazione fine del freno in compressione ed estensione, assicura, quando la lotta si inasprisce, feeling e precisione superiori per il modello ‘S’ .
Al retrotreno della versione ‘S’ è montato un monoammortizzatore Öhlins dalle specifiche elevatissime, con precarico della molla completamente regolabile e possibilità di piena regolazione altamente tecnica del freno in compressione ed estensione. Il mono è inoltre dotato di contromolla che migliora la guida aiutando a mantenere il pneumatico posteriore a contatto con l’asfalto anche in condizioni estreme.
I modelli Streetfighter e Streetfighter S hanno ereditato dalla famiglia Superbike la grande cura per ogni dettaglio in fatto di prestazioni: entrambi sono dotati di regolazione fine dell’altezza del retrotreno a seconda delle impostazioni personalizzate del precarico molla.
Cerchi
I nuovi cerchi a 10 razze in alluminio leggero contribuiscono a ridurre il peso globale del veicolo e a mantenere il controllo delle ‘masse non sospese’. Questo valore corrisponde al peso di tutti i componenti che si trovano tra le sospensioni e il manto stradale, ovvero ruote, pneumatici, dischi e pinze dei freni, ecc. In rotazione e ad alta velocità, però, sono le ruote ad accumulare gran parte dell’energia cinetica e ad offrire la massima resistenza in sterzata, in accelerazione o in frenata. Per questo motivo, la riduzione del loro peso contribuisce in maniera decisiva al miglioramento della maneggevolezza e delle prestazioni della moto. Lo Streefighter mette in campo ogni risorsa per offrire eccellenza.
La riduzione del peso è ancora più marcata sullo Streetfighter S, che monta cerchi Marchesini a 5 razze a Y in alluminio leggero forgiati e lavorati di macchina.
I cerchi sono in grigio grafite sullo Streetfighter e nella colorazione bronzo sul modello ‘S’. Entrambi i modelli montano pneumatici Pirelli Diablo Corse III.
Freni
Entrambi i modelli Streetfighter e Streetfighter S utilizzano la potente tecnologia frenante offerta dalle pinze Monoblocco Brembo. Queste pinze, lavorate da un singolo blocco in lega, garantiscono maggior rigidità e maggior resistenza alla deformazione nelle frenate più estreme. Il risultato è non soltanto una potenza frenante spettacolare, ma anche maggiore precisione e sensibilità alla leva del freno. Le doppie pinze Monoblocco hanno ciascuna 4 pistoncini da 34mm che lavorano su dischi sovradimensionati da 330mm, garantendo un’eccezionale efficienza frenante. Il peso dei dischi è stato contenuto al massimo grazie a superfici frenanti strette di tipo racing.
Potenza stupefacente
Il 1098 Testastretta Evoluzione campione del mondo non ha bisogno di presentazioni. Dopo il suo debutto nel 2007, è stato utilizzato come base per i motori che hanno consentito a Ducati di aggiudicarsi i titoli Mondiali Superstock e Superbike, disarmando la concorrenza. Oggi questo motore, con il suo alesaggio maggiorato, corsa corta e coppia incredibile, ‘spinge’ la naked Ducati più estrema con risultati altrettanto straordinari.
Con 85lb-ft (11.7kgm) di coppia e 155CV (114kW), la stupefacente potenza del 1098 dello Streetfighter non teme rivali tra le sportive naked. Il motore Desmodromico Testastretta Evoluzione Bicilindrico a L a 4 valvole per cilindro offre il miglior rapporto potenza/peso e il miglior rapporto coppia/peso della sua categoria.
Tra le novità, maggior dettaglio per le cartelle copricinghia e il coperchio della frizione a secco in magnesio e nuova colorazione nera per i coperchi esterni e grigia ‘carbon’ per i carter, che applicano la stessa tecnologia di risparmio del peso utilizzata per la 1198.
Il processo di pressofusione sotto vuoto utilizzato per il carter del motore assicura spessori delle pareti di perfetta realizzazione e una maggior resistenza grazie alla purezza assoluta dei materiali, mentre il peso risulta ridotto di ben 3kg rispetto al motore del modello 1098 Superbike.

But the old authentic matters as well, and thus what the restaurant calls “panzanella” with arugula pesto and marinated anchovies is a disappointment. The quotation marks around the word on the menu evoke images of deconstruction, of a playful interpretation of Italian cooking. But even in the name of whimsy and even with terrific anchovies on top, panzanella is made best with old bread torn into shards. Here, constructed out of small bread dice, it falls apart in the dressing, tastes only of oily sawdust, a bad day at the shop.
Hiramasa cured in citrus on a mat of black squid-ink oil, with chervil and radish salad, was almost punishingly salty. “It’s a Pacific fish,” the waiter had said. “White-fleshed and very delicious.” Hiramasa is also known as yellowtail amberjack, a species that has been overfished by the Japanese for years; it’s now a farmed species, which may help explain the use of a cure to give it flavor. It was not a good dish. Nor was an octopus carpaccio with sun-dried tomatoes and fine herbs that, to the good, looked like a Chuck Close painting. (To the bad, it tasted like one.)
Baccalà was served three ways: as carpaccio, whipped and baked. The carpaccio version, translucent and interesting, almost worked. The whipped one, though, loaded into a tube and pushed onto the plate in the manner of a cannoli filling, did not: too dense, too acidic. The baked — served with olives in a tomato sauce — was merely bland. And halibut confit in olive oil with chickpeas and a clam ragù made a mockery of the confit process; it was just halibut poached in olive oil, chewy and flavorless.

Lo stesso non può dirsi del baccalà montato alla frusta, messo in una bocchetta e impiattato come se fosse ripieno per cannoli: troppo denso, troppo acidulo. La versione al forno, servita con olive in salsa di pomodoro, era semplicemente insulsa. Il confit di halibut in olio d’oliva con ceci e ragù di vongole era una presa in giro del concetto di confit: era soltanto halibut cotto in olio d’oliva, stopposo e senza sapore.

Child labor
It is hereby agreed between the parties that X will not engage any child labor (children below the age of 15 years) for whatever purpose, in fulfilling his obligations under this contract.
In case of breach by X, sanctions may be applied by YY including cancellation of this agreement with immediate effect. Under such circumstances, the entire legal liability will be borne by X only and also X will not have any lien over the Crop/Seed/Produce of the said land.

§ 1.
The Ordering Party orders the services preformed
on Ordering’s Party movable property defined in Appendix 1 hereto and the Contractor accepts them.
§ 2.
The Contractor shall provide the services referred to in the preceding section using its employees. The said employees are employed by the Contractor which is the only party to their employment contracts. The Contractor and the Ordering Party unanimously agree that ongoing orders related to the manner and methods of performing specific business duties by Contractor’s employees shall be made by the Contractor by means of a leading figure, referred to as “Former”. The Former will be appointed for this task by the Contractor. The Former will be for the duration of the appointment, the contact person for the Ordering Party in case of all daily matters concerning the servicing.
§ 3.
The Contractor hereby undertakes to perform through the work of its employees and with the application of all due diligence required in the performance of the aforesaid works
Potential assignment of the performance of a specified task in its entirety or part to another entrepreneur shall require a written consent of the Ordering Party or else shall be null and void.
Within the scope of realisation of a contract to perform a specified task, the Contractor shall employee solely its own employees, whom it shall insure in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Polish law in force. As the payer of the tax on salaries, the Contractor alone shall deduct and pay the due sums on account of such tax on salaries of its employees. This agreement shall not constitute a basis for subletting the Contractor’s employees to the Ordering Party or other entities. The parties hereby agree that neither the Contractor nor the Ordering Party shall send employees from the country of temporary employment to any third countries.

La parte Mandante ordina l’esecuzione dei servizi effettuabili su beni mobili del Mandante, definiti all’Appendice 1 del presente contratto ed accettati dal Fornitore.
§ 2.
Il Fornitore curerà l’esecuzione dei servizi di cui al precedente punto utilizzando i propri dipendenti. Detto personale è alle dipendenze del Fornitore che ne rappresenta l’esclusivo datore di lavoro. Il Fornitore e il Mandante concordano che le istruzioni operative relative alle modalità e metodiche di esecuzione di compiti specifici da parte dei dipendenti del Fornitore verranno attuate dal Fornitore tramite una figura di riferimento denominata “Caposquadra”. Il Caposquadra verrà selezionato per svolgere le suddette mansioni dal Fornitore. Per tutta la durata del mandato, il Caposquadra sarà il referente della parte Mandante per tutte le questioni quotidiane riguardante la prestazione dei servizi.
§ 3.
Il Fornitore con il presente si impegna ad effettuare le prestazioni utilizzando i propri dipendenti e applicando la debita diligenza richiesta per l’esecuzione dei lavori sopra menzionati.
La cessione dell’esecuzione di un compito specifico, in tutto o in parte, ad altro imprenditore sarà possibile esclusivamente con il consenso scritto della parte Mandante o sarà in caso contrario nulla e priva di validità.
Ai fini dell’esecuzione contrattuale di compiti specifici, il Fornitore potrà utilizzare esclusivamente propri dipendenti, che sarà tenuto ad assicurare conformemente alle disposizioni applicabili del diritto polacco attualmente in vigore. Per quanto attiene al versamento delle imposte sulle retribuzioni, il Fornitore, in qualità di contribuente, dovrà detrarre e versare quanto fiscalmente dovuto in base alle retribuzioni dei propri dipendenti. Il presente contratto non potrà essere interpretato in maniera tale da legittimare il subappalto dei dipendenti del Fornitore alla parte Mandante o ad altri soggetti. Le parti concordano che ne’ il Fornitore ne’ il Mandante trasferiranno dipendenti dal paese di svolgimento dell’impiego temporaneo ad altri paesi terzi.
