Bipolar forceps, Hirsch. 5 Components. ➀ Jaws insert ➁ Handle ➂ Shaft ➃ Inner shaft ➄ Sealing cap A0462 ➅ Sealing cap A0463 6 Length 7 Spare jaws insert 8 Spare shaft 9 Spare inner shaft 10 Spare handle 11 Disassembly 12 Withdraw the jaws insert. • Push the locking button and hold it. • Withdraw the jaws insert in distal direction. • Release the locking button. 13 Remove the shaft. • Loosen the shaft’s knurled fastener. • Remove the shaft in distal direction. • Remove sealing cap A0462. 14 Remove the inner shaft. • Loosen the inner shaft’s knurled fastener. • Remove the inner shaft in distal direction. • Remove sealing cap A0463 from the handle. 15 Assembly Insert the inner shaft. 16 • Insert sealing cap A0463 into the handle. • Insert the inner shaft into the handle. • Screw the inner shaft’s knurled fastener onto the handle. 17 Insert the shaft. • Place sealing cap A0462 on the shaft. • Screw the shaft’s knurled fastener onto the handle. 18 Insert the jaws insert. • Push the locking button and hold it. • Insert the proximal end of the jaws insert into the inner shaft’s distal opening. • Push the jaws insert into the shaft until it comes to a stop. • Release the locking button. • Pull the jaws in distal direction. Make sure that the jaws insert is securely locked in the instrument. 19 Insert the bipolar forceps. • Insert the jaws into the proximal port of the trocar tube. • If necessary, open the trocar tube’s valve. • Insert the bipolar forceps into the body under visual control. 20 Operation. • Open the jaws by squeezing the handle. • Place the structures to be coagulated between the jaws. • Close the jaws. • Activate HF current for coagulation. • Open the jaws. • Remove the jaws from the coagulated structure. 21 Rotating the jaws. The jaws can be rotated in 30° increments by turning the HF cable’s plug. Do not twist the HF cable! 22 Withdrawal. • Close the jaws. • Remove the bipolar forceps from the trocar tube. 23 Disassemble the instrument before reprocessing. Use Olympus cleaning brush A0443 for shafts and inner shafts with a length of 330 mm. Use Olympus cleaning brush A0444 for shafts and inner shafts with a length of 450 mm. 25 CAUTION! Risk of damaging the instrument. Make sure that the instrument has been completely disassembled before sterilization and that no mechanical stress is exerted onto the inner shaft during sterilization (e.g. by other instruments). The combination of mechanical and thermal stress may lead to a deformation of the inner shaft’s insulation. 26 Sealing caps A0462, A0463. • If damaged, replace with compatible sealing cap. 	X Why did the menu change? The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to. The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability. More information on the changes... Where is the "My ProZ.com" menu? Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together. I cannot find something If you are having trouble finding something with the new menu, please submit a support request.
