My translation background starts in late 2006 when I applied for a volunteer translation project at Valve Software. The project lasted for a few months, giving me a lot of experience, after which I became a core team member responsible for updating the content. Later, in 2008, I was offered a real job by the same company involving translation of all the game descriptions in Steam Storefront. At the same time I worked as a freelancer for a City Paper magazine, writing and translating articles. I am currently unemployed, but I'm actively looking for new freelance translation opportunities.
