After a long career in the diplomatic and public service, I decided in 2003 to work freelance as a translator and editor, specialising in texts from German into English. I translate into my mother-tongue only since my focus is on producing texts of the highest quality. My aim is for the work I produce not to sound like a translation, while at the same time retaining all the meaning and feeling of the original German text. This applies both to my translation and editing work.
I put my long professional experience to good use and concentrate on texts from the fields of sociology, politics, the media, economics, and my lifelong involvement with English and American literature.
