I have been translating professionally on a full-time basis since 1999. During this time I have worked on a variety of texts for a wide range of clients ranging from major international companies (e.g. Austrian Airlines, Deutsche Telekom, BT, BBC, Beiersdorf, Deutsche Bank, Lufthansa, WestLB, Skandia), government departments (including the Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge) to small businesses. Each client receives the same high level of attention and care.

My past translation work covers marketing and promotional materials, in particular websites and brochures, cookery and tourist books, immigration policies, human resources documents (staff manuals, staff surveys, employment contracts, CVs, references, letters of application), education documents (course descriptions and requirements), commercial correspondence, and newspaper articles.

In addition to German and Swiss German texts, I have also produced translations for a good number of high profile Austrian clients using my knowledge of Austrian German gained whilst living and studying in Vienna.

Prior to qualifying as a translator, I worked in the field of international education, for the British Council (managing contracts on behalf of the UN, the EC, the British government and many African and Asian governments) and for the Fulbright Commission as Programme Director of the bilateral British-American programme.
